I was charged $194! $84 over what was quoted to me for a new kitten exam and one vaccine. I was also charged almost $50 for two tests that the vet didn't even look at before treating my cat. I asked if they would take off the charge for one of the tests since the vet never even looked at the slide but she refused. Terrible rip off. more

The staff at Sherwood South Animal Hospital is so incredibly wonderful. We cannot thank them enough for the compassion and care they have given our dogs. One time, I had a dog that was dying, and I went over to the Hospital to see her. Swami Rubio was on her way out the door, but she went back to let me into the courtyard so that I could let my dog outside and spend some time with her. Things like that make a huge difference to me, and is the reason we will stay there as long as we have pets. Highly recommended! more

I wish that I could recommend this facility, but I cannot. In late October of this year I had an emergency situation with one of my female Shih Tzu. She was in labor and looked like she was going to need an emergency cesarean section. It was nearing midnight on a Saturday night, so my only options were emergency vet facilities. When I called Sherwood South, I was informed that I could bring her in, but that the procedure would be $1800.00 and that I would have to pay 1/2 up front and the other half when I picked her up the following morning. Not having all of the $1800.00 handy, I asked if they would just turn her away and let her die. I was informed that they didn't want her to die, but if I didn't have the money that they could not provide services. In my opinion, this is a perfect example of a facility were $$$, rather than the best interest of the animals, is the driving force. The good news is that I found a wonderful facility that didn't even ASK about money up front. They just took her in, performed the section, and worried about the money afterward . . . And the total cost was approximately half of what Sherwood South quoted. I would have given this place ZERO stars, but that wasn't an option. more

My family and I love this clinic! Dr. West is our favorite, but all of the vets at this clinic are nice to us and our pets. They take very good care of our pets when they have problems and referred them to LSU when necessary. (We haven't had to use the new ER yet and hope it stays that way, but we would not hesitate...) The staff is very friendly and helpful. The doctors keep up with the latest in vet care, and inform you of new breakthroughs in vet med to help your pets. We have also used the boarding facilities and were very satisfied. I drive from out of town to come to this clinic because I feel it is worth it. I had left a vet that I had used for at least 10 years because of several different issues, then tried another one for a couple of years and was not happy with him either. He was cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for. Then my daughter started using Sherwood South and liked them, so I switched. I’m not sure how their prices compare to other vets in the area, but I feel they are reasonable. The quality care in a high quality facility is worth the price and the drive! We want the best for our babies! more
