It's so hard to find a good florist these days. Especially coming from LA, where there's tons of awesome florist to choose from and a great market downtown. I've had the hardest time transitioning to the valley. I needed to get some flowers for my mom for her bday yesterday when I was out to lunch with a buddy in Sherman Oaks. We spotted this one out off of Van Nuys next to a liquor store, meh.. Not so much, maybe it was just a bad day for them cause they weren't really stocked. So we walked back and bumped into a guy at the liquor store who actually recommended a florist right down Ventura. Gave it a shot, shop seemed kinda small, we could hear they were listening to classic rock on the radio while cleaning their fresh supply of flowers. This was my kind of place. Fridge was full of flowers and the most cutest designs, but I just couldn't decide...( I hate being such an indecisive gal) My Mom loves dahlias and I noticed that they just got some in that morning in so many beautiful colors. They were so awesome, the girl there noticed I was checking them out and she was like, we can make up one for you they way like in like 10-15 min. I wanted to try and just pick one out from the fridge,so they wouldn't have to. But she insisted and asked me what they were for. Something special for your Mom coming up she said. And in 12 minutes the designer/owner, sure enough whipped up the most beautiful arrangement for my Mom! I couldn't believe it. Something I would pay down in WeHo for 85 bucks i got for 60 full of roses, dahlias and these cool orchids they mixed in with some other beautiful flowers. I also liked that they didn't overdue it with greenery and fillers. My Mom freaked over the arrangement I got her. I would totally recommend them. Yay, and I'm their 1st review!! I also noticed that they had some really cute centerpieces with real pomegranates and candles. I'm definitely stopping by to pick up one for Gobble Gobble day. Kudos to Sherman Oaks Florist.
Pros: Parking available in the back through the alley
Cons: Closed Sundays... My only real day off a week :(
