zero accountability-terrible customer service for wedding planning 10/20/2010

Do not have your wedding here unless you are prepared to do everything yourself and triple check everything. We picked this hotel because of its ambiance and amazing location. The actual hotel staff is very nice but the sales and catering office is the worst. These are the highlights to what happened: \r \r 1. They doublebooked two events, our wedding and another conference on the same day. We only found out when we called. we asked for a different date and we're told to give them time, that the other client is very important and they might cancel. We gave them a month, meanwhile having deposits on our vendors and were given the cold shoulder when we asked the status. The sales manager interrupted me when asking and told me that she gets it, thats an important day. \r \r 2. Fantastic Hotel for Wedding/Event 11/14/2007

I held my wedding and reception at this hotel and the staff did a FANTASTIC job! The views from the Galaxy and Star Ballrooms are hard to beat, the food fantastic, and the service supurb. The only complaints we have: 1) blocking guest rooms can be a pain/annoying -- guests were sometimes misinformed the room block was full and the staff doesn't monitor the room count to add rooms when necessary like they say they do -- instead you'll have to monitor; 2) the Sheraton reward system -- it seems quite a bit stingier than other major hotel chains -- make sure you confirm how many points you'll be getting before the event and then check your statement to make sure that's what in fact you got; and 3) the location -- the hotel isn't walkable to anything. They do have a reliable shuttle that will take guests to the metro, airport, etc. It worked out for us and we heard few complaints.\r \r All in all -- great location to hold an event. It comes highly recommended!!! more
