I took my 83 year old mother to purchase a recliner chair. She is over weight (225 lbs) and has some arthitis. We explained to the salesperson that she was having trouble opening her old recliner(which has a handle) because of pain in her arms. He recommended a push button recliner. She told him she is in her recliner mosly thru the day and even sleeps in it, because of her pain to lay in a bed. the owner Larry came out to also show us recliners and sold us one with nice warrantees. It was delivered and the next day pushing the button would NOT open the recliner, we called Larry and he said he would have them put a new motor in the recliner, They came out and put in a new motor. The next day the button would not open the recliner again, we called Larry to explain that the chair wasn't working , he said come to the store and look at another recliner. When we got there he said there was nothing he could do to fix the recliner he already put in a motor , and the reason it wasn't working was because my mother is too heavy and sleeps in the recliner. I TOLD HIM HE SAW HER WHEN HE SOLD HER THE CHAIR, AND SHE TOLD HIM SHE SLEPT IN IT!..Now she is too heavy and is not suppose to sleep in a recliner? This Man said the most rediculous things I have ever heard. HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO ABOUT THE CHAIR AND JUST THROW IT OUT. I went to LAZY BOY and they told me alot Men& Women weigh 225lbs, and Many, many people sleep in recliners. Lazy-Boy stands behind all of their products and they MAKE their own RECLINERS so I have purchased a new recliner from a fantastic company that stands behind their product.
