Editorial review from Citysearch 12/1/2012

I have kenneled my beloved pets with Sheron at her Kennels for over thirty years, and I've never in my life heard of such reaction from people as she is the most conscious and hard working person I know and it has been the only time my pups enjoy going to ""Camp,"" at her beautiful spacious facility in Auburn Hills near the Palace more

ANIMAL NEGLECT; CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN! 1/18/2010

I would not give this kennel any stars, but 1 star was they lowest rating it would let me give. To make a long story short we left our dog on 1/15/10 for boarding and grooming. They didn't write down the correct day that we were picking up. So when we got there a day earlier than expected, our dog was covered in his own feces. He was supposed to be groomed and they had not yet done that AND they let him sit in his own crap!!! I had to insist they bathe him so I could take him home. No apology offered. Just excuses!! If you want to know the whole nightmare keep reading!!! .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. We left our dog at this kennel Friday night. Our dog was there to be boarded as well as groomed. My husband told the owner that we may be home Sunday night or Monday morning. He noticed that she only noted Monday morning and said maybe you should put Sunday just in case, she didn't listen. When I did arrive on Sunday night she seemed quite surprised and stumbled over her words trying to figure out how to tell me that our dog had an accident in his cage and had not been cleaned. She tried to make excuses about why he hadn't been bathed yet, including ""Well, I thought about bathing him, but then I thought what if he does it again tonight, then we would just have to bathe him again in the morning."" Then she said ""Oh he was supposed to be groomed too, wasn't he? Our groomers car broke down and he hasn't been in all weekend."" She was not apologetic and didn't seem to care. She made up excuses about why they hadn't bathed him. I was told I could leave him there and MAYBE the groomer would be in the next day. After I gathered my composure I reminded her that she was the owner who agreed to perform a service and if the groomer's car broke down she should have went to get him. Her reply was ""Well you are right, except we don't have a car."" I then told her she needed to get my dog bathed so we could take him home that night. Her reply was ""Well, were getting ready to close."" I again had to remind her that she was the owner and that was not my problem, she could stay open. While they were bathing him they got his stuff ready. They brought his blanket out and it clearly had not been in the cage with him. They lied and said they had already cleaned it. It had his hair on it and it did not smell clean. Had it been in the cage with him, it would have had crap on it. Had they cleaned it, it would not have been covered in hair. They never put the blanket in the cage. When they brought our dog our from his ""bath"" they had only cleaned his back end and he still smelled. We still had to bathe him again when we got home. I wanted to make them take him back and bathe him properly, but I was afraid they would mistreat him. Throughout this whole process the owner never apologized or offered to rectify the situation in any way. I understand that dogs get nervous at kennels and they have accidents, but to let a dog sit in his own excrement is outrageous. I don't care if they had to give him 10 baths, they should have taken better care. Cons: NEW MANAGEMENT IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT!!!! more

Former Employees 5/29/2009

It's a shame that two (2) of my former employees and their friends and/or relatives have attempted to sabatoge my business with their false negative reviews that they've posted. It's unfortunate, but I had no choice but to let them go due to the crimes they committed involving me personally and my business. I've left this for the Oakland County Prosecutors office to handle. I would like to encourage all prospective clients to call us and come to our kennel and see for yourself. I have a very professional staff who absolutely love animals.and I am certain you will be 100% satisfied. more

Just picked up my dog 4/6/2009

This was my first time using the kennel under the new management. The girls were really friendly and knowledgeable. Turns out the new manager previously worked for Leader Dogs for the Blind. I can see the improvements already since my dog's last stay.\r \r I read the previous reviews and just have to think that they were done by the ""fired"" employees. Pros: great place, my dog loved it !!!!! more

Five Star Rated Kennel 12/3/2008

I am boarding two dogs. I wouldnt have them anywhere else. They are happy, well taken care of and loved. Shots are a must! Would you want it any other way? Have known Sheron for 15 yrs. She is the best. The dogs tails always wag on the way in! The staff is great! Animals are their life and that is all good for you. Pros: They love your pet like you do. more

Happy at this Kennel 5/8/2008

The kennel may be older but you can tell the love for the dogs. Very happy with my dogs stay. Will be going back! Pros: Love for the animals more

Sher Meer Kennel..is Great! 5/8/2008

I have been using this kennel for several years....find them very helpful...had a dog that needed medical care when I was away and they (especially Barb & the owner) took full charge and my Bunny was well when we returned from vacation! \r My dogs love the care they get! more

Not happy 3/29/2008

I boarded my dog at this kennel and I was very unhappy. The place seemed very old and very rundown. I really didn't want to leave my dog there but I had no choice because of leaving town immediately. I love my dog and he deserves better than that so I won't make that same mistake again. Nothing much to say good about this kennel. more

BAD......not clean not professional 3/28/2008

I boarded my dog there once and it will be the last time. It was very unclean and actually quite filthy. The owners seem very nonprofessional and not really caring about the place or if she lost or kept my business. I now have found a wonderful kennel that is very professional and clean to board my dogs. I'm just amazed that kennels like Sher Meer have any customers and are still in business. more

Avoid this kennel 8/14/2007

It really is a shame when a kennel offers a customer a service, and the owner of the kennel assures the service has been followed through with, only to find out (from a kennel employee who personally took care of your dog) that the SERVICE WAS NOT DONE! Very dissappointing! VERY DISHONEST! Makes you wonder what it being/not being done at some kennels! Pros: parking Cons: dishonesty of owner more

A great kennel, staff and grounds 7/12/2007

I rarely have a need to board my dog and try to avoid it because he is not accustomed to being left with strangers but they really do a great job taking care of him at Sher-meer. The physical kennels are very well-designed and offer the dogs inside/outside access. The staff pays a lot of individual attention to the animals and they are walked outside on their open spacious grounds 2 or 3 times a day. My cat stayed there once too, and being that he was very friendly and did not try to escape, he was given free rein to roam the reception area when the manager was there during slower times of business. Pros: great kennels, great grounds, they also have groomers on-site and agility classes are available Cons: They get booked up especially around holidays so be sure to plan in advance. more

I love this Kennel! It is nice and clean! 7/2/2007

I love this kennel and so do my dogs. They are happy when we take them there they walk right in and know where to go. Pros: Nice workers and a nice kennel more
