I would not give this kennel any stars, but 1 star was they lowest rating it would let me give. To make a long story short we left our dog on 1/15/10 for boarding and grooming. They didn't write down the correct day that we were picking up. So when we got there a day earlier than expected, our dog was covered in his own feces. He was supposed to be groomed and they had not yet done that AND they let him sit in his own crap!!! I had to insist they bathe him so I could take him home. No apology offered. Just excuses!! If you want to know the whole nightmare keep reading!!! ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
We left our dog at this kennel Friday night. Our dog was there to be boarded as well as groomed. My husband told the owner that we may be home Sunday night or Monday morning. He noticed that she only noted Monday morning and said maybe you should put Sunday just in case, she didn't listen. When I did arrive on Sunday night she seemed quite surprised and stumbled over her words trying to figure out how to tell me that our dog had an accident in his cage and had not been cleaned. She tried to make excuses about why he hadn't been bathed yet, including ""Well, I thought about bathing him, but then I thought what if he does it again tonight, then we would just have to bathe him again in the morning."" Then she said ""Oh he was supposed to be groomed too, wasn't he? Our groomers car broke down and he hasn't been in all weekend."" She was not apologetic and didn't seem to care. She made up excuses about why they hadn't bathed him. I was told I could leave him there and MAYBE the groomer would be in the next day. After I gathered my composure I reminded her that she was the owner who agreed to perform a service and if the groomer's car broke down she should have went to get him. Her reply was ""Well you are right, except we don't have a car."" I then told her she needed to get my dog bathed so we could take him home that night. Her reply was ""Well, were getting ready to close."" I again had to remind her that she was the owner and that was not my problem, she could stay open. While they were bathing him they got his stuff ready. They brought his blanket out and it clearly had not been in the cage with him. They lied and said they had already cleaned it. It had his hair on it and it did not smell clean. Had it been in the cage with him, it would have had crap on it. Had they cleaned it, it would not have been covered in hair. They never put the blanket in the cage. When they brought our dog our from his ""bath"" they had only cleaned his back end and he still smelled. We still had to bathe him again when we got home. I wanted to make them take him back and bathe him properly, but I was afraid they would mistreat him. Throughout this whole process the owner never apologized or offered to rectify the situation in any way. I understand that dogs get nervous at kennels and they have accidents, but to let a dog sit in his own excrement is outrageous. I don't care if they had to give him 10 baths, they should have taken better care.
Cons: NEW MANAGEMENT IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT!!!!
