Worst bar in brooklyn 5/7/2010

Horrible food... The drinks are terrible, don't even bother with a liquor drink. The people who frequent it are bipolar psychopaths. Go to 200 5th or any of the other bars in park slope. more

Great Aussie-styple Gastropub, Atmosphere and food were spot on 2/28/2009

All around a good time. Atmosphere and tables were perfect for a group of friends, place had both picnic-table style benches and couple's tables; fireplace was a nice plus. Food was hearty, tasty, and priced awesome. Service was prompt and friendly, but never fake or overly nice. Will be bookmarking this place. Pros: Great food and atmosphere, fireplace, and cheap! Cons: Makes me need to learn my way around brooklyn better more

Skimpy sandwiches 3/19/2008

I ordered a $13 lamb sandwich and a beer and didn't feel satisfied when I left. The lamb sandwich was skimpy on the meat and came on a soggy slider-style roll. Pros: Nice ambiance Cons: skimpy portions more

Awesome Atmos!!! 3/17/2008

Can I just say ""I love this Fricken place""!!!!! It's awesome! It has three different phases 1)being the chilled back afternoon pint 2)The dinner rush 3)the after midnight party rocks on. I've been here many a time and I always have a great time. The bartenders are soooooooooooo cool. There's an Aussie guy (cute) and a couple American's. They all know how to make a wicked coctail and appear to have secret day jobs as they can hold a great conversation. The owners and staff are simply the best. They don't even have to try to make you comfortable because they are chilled and know what they are doing. The food is simple but soooo hearty and the beer is wide in range. After midnight the music slowly pumps up and by 2am your shakin it with old school tunes from rock to hip hop to Reggae...and you never feel like you have to leave. Pros: knowledgeable bartenders, great music, cute crowd, no hipsters Cons: not enough cute aussies more

I Wanna Love This Place 1/31/2008

I think this is a great lil' spot. The atmosphere is pure beer drinking bliss. They could offer more food choices on their menu & concentrate on giving their food just a teeny bit more flair. While I love my college lifestyle grilled sandwich maker, I'm not sure how I feel about it being used in my $6 grilled cheese & tomato sandwich. The prices for both the beer & the food are reasonable. & It's rather hard to complain about the flavor of the food, b/c even the french fries, or ""chips,"" are super tasty. Too bad they the much talked about poutine was unavailable to try...a fave of mine @ Pomme Frittes in the E. Village. I sneaked a bite of my bf's meat pie & WOW! It's really good & better as an entree than an appetizer b/c once you taste it, you won't wanna share! So, it's hard to not love this place. Just beware, the back rm. is chillier & close to 2 bathrms. & therefore has great potential to smell of toilet. When I went into the bathrm. in the hallway between the front & back dining rms., I reached for the toilet paper to find a soggy roll hanging on the holder. Ew. But the beer's cheap & delicious. The bloody marys are terribly refreshing & have an awesome zip. What reasonable prices. Unless you get overcharged for your beer. But this place is so tasty & they made sure our beer was fresh by replacing the keg. I think it's hard to not like this place in spite of its careless quirks. Just be prepared to request the check...twice. Pros: Yummy Aussie Fare, Amazing Beers & Bloody Marys, Reasonable Prices Cons: Out of a Couple Menu Selections more

Excellent local pub 1/16/2008

This is my favorite Park Slope pub. The industrial decor looks great, and is a perfect fit for the location on industrial 4th avenue. It feels comfortable and low-key. The staff is always very friendly and attentive, and the food is good. My girlfriend usually gets the mussels with fries, and I am a fan of the curry pie. I like that you can order smaller plates (like the curry pie) if you're just hanging out and don't necessarily want a full meal. They serve the excellent selection of draft beer the same way, which I love: small, medium, or large (pint). Pros: great draft beer sold in three sizes; good food; nice decor Cons: the food menu is small, and doesn't have too many healthier choices more

Great Neighborhood Spot 1/13/2008

I really like this place. It's cozy and unpretentious w/ a stellar beer selection. It's definitely a unique find among the otherwise drabness of 4th avenue. Love the fish and chips!!! It's got this great wooden rustic feel and as soon as you step inside, you immediately feel at ease. Pros: Ambience, beer selection, wooden Cons: Not close enough to my house more

Sweet Environment; Uneven Food 12/13/2006

Sheep Station is an unpretentious, attractive, welcoming spot that lends considerable warmth and rusticity to Fourth Avenue's speedy, industrial, hyper-urban atmosphere. One is always greeted in a friendly manner and the Cooper's beer is lovely. Pros: Charming atmosphere, nice waitstaff, great meat patties and brew. Cons: Uneven food quality. more

Great Addition 11/21/2006

I've come by here a few times and am really glad to have it in the neighborhood. Great meat pie, fantastic french fries, and tons of interesting beers on tap. They don't seem too busy yet, but I'm guessing that will change as people wander over to 4th and find it. Pros: food, beer, staff Cons: needs more crowd more
