Great Place to Visit 4/5/2006

We Love Moody Gardens. The prices are a tad high, but they have day passes and their yearly passes are great prices if you live nearby. We have been here numerous times and have always been pleased. We love everything from the paddlewheel boat to Palm Beach. This is a place that we will be visiting for many years to come! more

Love This Place 11/15/2005

This place is fun, entertaining, educational and exciting. The only bad thing about Moody Gardens is it is quite pricey. Each exhibit cost something different but you don't have to visit all of them just the one's you want to see. My 8 year old daughter went on a school field trip here and got to visit the rain forest exhibit and she couldn't stop talking about it. The butterflies land all over you in the. It is AMAZING!!! more

Family fun! 9/20/2005

This is such a Fun Place! Finally made it out to Moody Gardens in Galveston. Glad I made the drive. What a spectacular place nestled in Galveston. I dont think this place gets enough feedback. It took us 5 years to make it out there. I highly recommend this to families. Our kids really enjoyed the 3 D film on sea life. We also loved the butterfly garden. There is so much to do there. Be careful budget wise because every activity is priced seperate and can get expensive. Easy access from I45 Exit west beach and stay to the right. Follow the signs. more

aquarium is great and they have an imax 8/29/2005

The IMAX theatre and IMAX Ridefilm Theater is a great place to take kids when you are on Galveston Island. The Aquarium has many exhibits, and they offer very educational lessons while you are viewing the animals. The rain forest is muggy, but the birds are beautiful. There are great places to take pictures, and the colors are exquisite. Last time we were there, a couple was taking wedding pictures there. The price is pretty steep, but check the internet for specials and group discounts. more

Great for the whole family 8/20/2005

My family visited Moody Gardens for vacation. We were traveling w/ grandma, mom and dad, and a 2 1/2 yr old. The place was great for everyone. We were able to buy tickets in advance, so all we had to do was show up, pick up our tickets and enjoy the day. There were so many exhibits, my son was never bored. The discovery pyramid is great for kids, as is the playground outside. We went before the beach was open, but it looked incredible. The Paddleboat was a blast as well. The staff of all the facilities were very accomodating, and were there to make sure you had a good time, with no problems. Moody Gardens was very clean, safe, and very easily accessable for everyone. The place is beautiful and was well worth the $30 per ticket! Pros: Great value for the money-all day for $32, and visit every exhibit! Cons: The boat ride was a little long to keep small kids happy! more

Moody Gardens 8/18/2005

I am not sure how you classify Moody Gardens. There are a lot of things to do there. It certainly makes for a great day trip to Galveston. Moody Gardens has a 3D IMAX theater, there is an aquarium, a rainforest, a ride/film (simulated ride), etc. Each activity has a separate fee, but you can get discounted day passes. It is open every day around 10:00 AM, so you do not have to get up early to head down there as it is only a hour's drive from Houston. My kids loved the acquarium. more

In the same vein as Seaworld, with fewer rides 7/2/2005

This is basically the educational version of Seaworld. There are a few pyramids each containing different attractions, including an aquarium and a rainforest. There are occassionally some new attractions that rotate in and out, including a dinosaur exhibit and a space exhibit. At Christmas Moody does a 'trail of lights' that cost way too much and offers way too little. Basically, if you've done this before there's almost no incentive to go back, unless you want to visit the water lagoon. Bottom Line: nice thing to do if you've never been, but otherwise not worth the inflated prices. more

Fun but Pricey 6/20/2005

Moody Gardens is a great place for both kids and adults. They offer a variety of different areas but each requires its own separate ticket. The "exhibits" are interesting (like petting sting rays) but the tickets are pricey. After the first visit, it's not as much fun because they don't add very much to the year round areas. more
