I do not write many reviews, however, I feel that is important to spread the word when you do have a wonderful experience. I have been having my hair done by Craig for about 2 years. I am in my 40's and have thick, medium length hair. I was introduced to Craig by my boyfriend who also has his done by Craig. From the moment I met Craig, I knew that I was in good hands. Craig listens to his clients and will go above and beyond to ensure that each and every client is 100% happy with the hair cut/style before leaving the salon. I am frequently asked who does my hair and I am happy to recommend Craig. Craig's upbeat and positive attiude is infectious. I look forward to seeing him every 6 weeks for a trim/color. A month ago, I had a my first deep conditioning treatment. My hair was soft and silky for days! I highly recomended it! I guarantee that you will not have to find another stylist again!! more

My wedding was in June of 2009. I had been referred to Brenda Hanrath to do my wedding hair. On the day of my trial I was so disappointed by the service I received. She had her assistant do most of my hair that day. When the final hair was done, I wanted to try some different variations to find the perfect wedding hair for my big day. Even though I was paying for a trial hair day, she had been doing 3 other clients during the time she did my hair, thus the reason she had her assistant doing most of the work, plus she was put off by my unhappiness at the final product. Not to mention she talked me into putting 3 lil hair extensions into my bangs, in which I was reluctant to do, because I didn't want it to damage my real hair. She used glue and did a terrible job, and when they finally came out, as I thought my real hair did as well :-( I didn't get any additional tries on my hair and my wedding was less then 2 weeks away. I was on my way out of her salon and was tearing up ready to call my fiance to tell him how confused and sad I was. Not to mention I had a written quote on how much this day would cost me and she charged me 60 dollars more. I was so upset I just wrote a check and left. After talking to my faince in tears, he hung up with me and said he was going to call her. He called her to tell her how unhappy I was and in the midst of him saying that, she stated ""I was going to cancel her anyway"" and hung up on him. Well needless to say she kept my deposit of 120.00 for the wedding day and I will have to go to court to try to get it back. Also she left right after I left that day and cashed the check I wrote her within minutes. This tells you she knows what she is doing or she wouldn't be so sneaky. I had since found out that the salon she worked for at the time told her to give my deposit back. She lied to them and said she had and she never did. I wanted to write this to warn anyone who may have a big day ahead of them, please think twice about using this lady who advertises herself as a ""wedding specialist"" In the long run I was so lucky to find a fabulous hair stylist who did a most beautiful job. In a weird way it may have been meant to be because I know she would've ruined my wedding day with her attitude and terrible hair skills. I hope this helps any consumers making a decision. more

Nancy is not only the most caring hair designer that I have met and had the pleasure to sit in her chair. My hair was remarkable, I felt like a changed gal! The total experience was very uplifitng in the quality of style as well as my hair had new personality with the expert color correction. Laughter and fun combined with beauty and professional care, what could be better. I highly recommend to any gal looking for the true spa venue. Shear Attitude is a cozy little salon nestled away in Lido Village where you can relax and enjoy yourself while getting a fantastic haircut. Nancy has a way with hair that can't be explained in words. I actually feel more confident when I leave, no exaggeration. And not only do I feel more confident after visiting, people actually notice and compliment me on my hair and ask where I got it done. I don't know what it is or how she does it, but she does and that's what matters. Thanks Nancy! more

Since moving to California 17 years ago, only Nancy has touched my hair. She is a cut and color genius, but best of all, she has created the most inviting, relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere anywhere! It is never easy changing hairdressers... most of us are 'married' to ours... however Nancy took me in and was willing to go the distance with patience and desire to truly make me happy? and get my hair to be ?just like my ole? favorite hairdresser did (but was too far to travel to anymore). She made me feel so special, her one on one attentiveness, fantastic wit and nurturing nature make me want to stop by just for a coffee. The shop is gorgeous, warm and relaxing. I really appreciate all the extras? wifi, nibbles, drinks, superb head massage and of course the love from her wonderful therapy dog! Nancy you are a treasure to find, so glad I did. more

Wow - what a huge difference! I recently went to Nancy to do my highlights (much needed) and to shape-up my sorry hair. BOY - what a wonderful, wonderful outcome! My highlights look BEAUTIFUL and she did a great new cut. I love her and I love the shop!!! I was introduced to Shear Attitude and more importantly Craig through my fiance who has been going to him for awhile now. From the minute I entered the calm inviting salon, I knew that this place was for me. Craig instantly made me feel at home with a beverage, and sat down with me to collaborate about what style and color would look best on me. It had been some time since I last had a haircut, and he was honest with me when he recommended cutting off all the dead to get it back to a healthy state. He added two colors to my hair, one lighter and one darker than my own shade giving me tons of dimension. I had never before been comfortable with having short hair, but I have gone to Craig about 6-7 times now, and he has consecutively cut my hair shorter every time with me loving it even more. He is a hair genius!!! Nancy is wonderful too, and even though she has never cut my hair personally, she has always been wonderful and her clients always walk away looking stunning too. I will never let anyone else touch my hair as long as Craig is still drawing a breath!!! Thank you Craig for making me feel like a new woman! more

Shear Attitude and colorist, Nancy Johnson, are sure to please. I have been a loyal customer of Nancy's for 19, yes, 19 years. I discovered her after a colorist in Irvine turned all my hair white. Nancy saved me then and has been doing a great job ever since. I am very particular about what I like, and Nancy listens and delivers. I drive 45 minutes for the priviledge of having Nancy cut and color my hair. Nancy is likeable, interesting, and above all, a great technician. I highly reccommend Nancy and this salon. I moved from the Bay Area to Laguna two years ago. I had gone to the same hairdresser in Palo Alto for 25 years so you can imagine my trepidation about going to a new hairstylist. One visit with Nancy, and all my anxieties vanished completely. She is amazing! Color, cut, style - always to my complete satisfaction. I look forward to my appointment knowing that I will be in a relaxing atmosphere, and can engage in very interesting conversation with Nancy. Hopefully when you visit, Samson, her Great Dane will be relaxing on the doorstep. I so admire Nancy for the therapy programs in which she and Samson are involved. I certainly appreciate Nancy's efficiency and time-management. What was at least a 2 hour visit up north, is now an hour, and the results are far superior to what I had become accustomed to the last 25 years. The waxer at this Salon, Monique is FABULOUS!!!! I have been going to her for about two years and I will follow her where ever she goes! She is the BEST at Brazilian (the whole thing) and is the best waxer I have ever had. And I have tried so many. She is fun, sweet and a great woman. I would recommend her to anyone that wants to try waxing for anything. She is also starting to do facials again. She did them before but her old place (crazy man lady) wouldn't allow her. So I will let you know about that service when I try it! YOU MUST GO TO HER!!!! more

Well, I jave just arrived home after my hair appointment with Nancy earlier today and once again I am very happy with my cut and color! I have been a client for at least 15 years now and have yet to ever leave unhappy or disappointed! It just isn't going to happen! Nancy comes very highly recommended! Thanks, Nancy. Love Monique's new salon! Her new room is adoreable, CLEAN, and cozy! She's the best at brazilians...you laugh the whole time (okay maybe not the whole time). I have known Nancy for a very l-o-n-g time and she always take the best care with my problem hair. I am pampered from the moment I arrive with Sampson (her GORGEOUS Great Dane) greeting me outside the door to a warm welcome from all inside her beautiful fresh-air cooled office. Great location, great stylists-I can't say enough good things about Sheer Attitude! Oh yes, there's usually chocolate on hand! What more could anyone want? more
