great seafood place 8/25/2006

When I was there a few weeks ago, I had the best scallops I've had in a long time. It was a large postion, donce perfectly. My wife and her sister each had the halibut and enjoyed it, even though they used too mcuh better. Prices are on the high side, but it's worth a trip. more

Great Restaurant 7/25/2006

I visited this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago. If you are looking for a nice seafood restaurant, this is a good choice! My party arrived very close to closing time (around 10 pm) and so we were only able to get a table in the bar. But that was no problem for us and the service here was just as great. Their menu is small, but has all the essential seafood options on it (including sushi). I had their shrimp platter, which came with some great garlic grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, and coconut shrimp. The shrimp were huge and really delicious. The coleslaw that came with my meal was the only thing I did not like because it was bland and dry. Overall, it was a great experience to go here but make sure to be on a big spending budget before you go here! more

Awesome Suburban Location 5/17/2006

My company had a holiday party for us at the Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg, I had been to the Chicago location previously, but I was much more impressed with the Schuamburg location. They had such a great restaurant with really nice ambiance. We got our own little section and we were served brunch. The brunch was pretty good and it featured lots of great hors de vours, omelettes, and fresh fruits and juices. The waiters here were great and were prompt at refilling plates and glasses and also bringing out the food hot and fresh. I definitely am planning on visiting here again in the future. more

  • Shaw's is two restaurants in one - a jazzy, sophisticated, seafood restaurant and a carefree, lively oyster bar. Both serve top-grade fish and shellfish, several varieties of just-shucked oysters, and inventive sushi and sashimi combinations, made with the freshest fish in town.
    The wonderful, sweet crabs vary by season, with Alaskan red king legs, Florida stone crab claws, Maryland blue crab, whole Dungeness and soft shells, plus shrimp, Maine lobster and cold-water tails. Like all our seasonally fresh fish (which is filleted in house), they're chosen with consideration for the environment, often coming from fishing families Shaw's knows personally.
