Sharp's Academy Of Hair

I have never experienced such attentiveness to my needs and desires at a hair salon. An academy it states? I understand the "practice" of hair styling, but the owner was PRESENT (at my side) instructing the student at least 90% of the time!!!!My girlfriend dyed my hair the night before and it turned out BLACK, BLACK!!!! The owner KNEW it could be fixed!!! They lessened the color, and then dyed it the most beautiful brown I have ever seen! Then I chose a style and cut...the owner cut my hair and I have NEVER had such a great cut in my life (I am 50 years old)...that's alot of hair cuts!!! Oh and then I added a manicure for $7.00!!!Phew...I was MORE than all better!!! How could I EVER say thank you enough????? more

I was in the area visiting friends and needed to get a color and cut. My friends suggested Sharp's Academy of Hair. I was a walk-in and they were able to accommodate me immediately. Knowing that this would be students doing my hair I was a bit skeptical but the owner/teacher was their instructing and suggesting to her students each step of the way. I did learn that her daughter, Angie, is also an instructor who was on the floor at the same time. With both mother/daughter team watching and instructing it really put my mind at ease. The student did a great job with my color and cut, especially since I have curly hair that is not easy to deal with. Speaking of deals I pay over a $100 up north where I live and paid less then half that at the Sharp's Academy. WHAT A DEAL! I would highly recommend you stop in and see what they can do for you and oh yes, the conversation is great also. more

I love this place! Fast Friendly Service! Students do a great job! Pay 1/2 the price of a salon but, you get salon quality work. It does take the students longer to do service's than a professional in a salon. more

Went in this Saturday for a cut. Was in and out in less than 20 minutes and the price is great. I am new to the area and it is hard to find a good place to go. I will be back. more

I went here once with my daughter. I had a color and cut. The color was fine, but i was not terribly happy with the cut. But....you get what you pay for. My daughter had her hair thinned. Deffinately worth the price there for that...........but it did take the girl over 2 hours to do it. more

Usually we go to Borics but for my son I was tempted to go their because of their cheap prices on haircuts. \r \r The service wasnt bad but they took longer then others that really was the only problem. During my experience with them I got what I paid for, I didnt have any problems and the cheap haircut was a bargain. \r \r However after going there I have heard some horror stories but Im unable to verify such claims. more

This is a small school and I've had a few haircuts there, at $7.00 it's a bargain! A friend takes her family there regularly. Based on the individual attention each student gets from instructors while doing hair, I'd say this is most likely a good school to go to. Can't really speak to the whole student experience there, but it's sure a good place to get a bargain hairdo! more
