Sharp offers programs in Adult Treatment, Alcohol and Drug Dependency, Chemical Dependency, Child and Adolescent Services, Cognitive Treatment, Dual Recovery (Sharp Mesa Vista or Sharp Grossmont Hospital), Eating Disorders Treatment, Older Adult Services in addition to other programs.

Sharp HealthCare''s Behavioral Health Services offers a treatment approach that emphasizes coordination of all aspects of your care. Our goal is to make sure that all patients receive the best possible care in the most appropriate setting, utilizing the education, support and therapy that are provided within our programs.

Sharp HealthCare utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to psychiatric treatment. The attending psychiatrist directs and supervises a specific treatment plan that is individually developed for each patient and carried out by a professional team of registered nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatric technicians, mental health counselors, activity therapists and dietitians. When possible, referring professionals are encouraged to maintain ties with their patients during inpatient treatment.

Family participation is a vital part of all our treatment programs. With the patient''s permission, we encourage family members to participate in the treatment process and, when appropriate, in family counseling. Also, we believe it is important for patients and their families to help develop a plan for continued care together. From the time of admission, our goal is to help the patient achieve successful integration back into the community.

The staff of Sharp Behavioral Health Services'' Intake and Assessment Services is available to assist those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
