This is an incredible gem. Facials are always perfectly customized and every time I've gone I've been treated to some kind of therapeutic massage or add-on to help with any body aches/pains or puffiness around the eyes. I can't recommend Shangri-La enough. more

Let me start by saying I am super picky and NEVER write reviews, but after my experience was compelled to. After moving to the area I was in desperate need of a facial. My skin broke out bad and I was petrified to try a spa I didn't know. I began checking the internet and finding great reviews for this place. I was still scared but I did it. I am so happy I did. I had a facial done by Naren and it was out of this world. She is really honest and caring, knowledgeable and very professional. The facial was the most thorough facial I have ever had. This is also the only spa I have ever been to that has not pushed products on me. I was actually given samples to try first. What? How great is that? Believe me, that never happens. My skin looked better immediately and continues to look better each day. I would highly recommend this spa. I won't go anywhere else now. more

After recently moving to Long Island, I never thought I would find anyone I would trust do my facials. I friend of mine swore to me I would change my mine after one facial with the owner of Shangri-La, Naren. Immediately after meeting Naren I knew I was in great hands. ( As it turns out, she is from Manhattan too, and worked in one of the top Medical Spas there) Naren recommended ""The Diamond Facial"" from the Natura Bisse line. This facial is truly a ""WOW"" experience and the results are fantastic. My skin looked like I had slept 8 straight hours afterward!. The facial massage part of the facial is like a facial ""workout"" for the facial muscles, it felt amazing! I purchased the Diamond Creme and Diamond Drops for home care, I am hooked! For years i had really sensitive skin and rosacea and i was really conservative about where i went to get facials, as treatment often seemed to make it worse. i heard from some friends about this spa and decided to give it a try.\r I was told by other places that i couldn't use alpha-hydroxy acids because of my skin, but Naren helped me underatand my skin condition and gave me a lot of information about product ingredients. I now know what to avoid and what to look for in products. I listened to her advice and tried a glyco-peel facial and changed my home regimen as well as made minor changes in my diet that she suggested.\r I couldn't believe the improvement in only a month-even, clear, and wonderful skin tone, with the redness disappearing as well. As a mid-thirty full-time working mom as a CPA with two kids, I started to get frustrated about the dullness of my skin. I thought I' ve been treating my skin ""very good,"" but in fact, it was not. Naren, the owner, appropriately spotted the reason, and I was advised first to stop all the skin products that I was using, replacing with a product that was sold at the Spa (Bergamot Wash from Sonya Dakar). Then, the clogs of my pores disappeared then my skin became brighter and softer. Not only myself, my co-workers noticed that my skin got better. Not to mention, I'm using the skin products from the Spa, receiving the appropriate advises from Naren. She is like a skin doctor and knows her business. I cannot thank her enough for being my skin consultant. She does not sell the products for money; she examines the condition of your skin and gives the appropriate advises and carefully chooses the products that would best suit the condition of your skin. Now my skin is much brighter, softer, and hydrated like the twenties, and I cannot live without getting the treatments and products. I treated myself to a pampering afternoon with a facial, waxing, and yes, even tinting my lashes and eyebrows and getting a manicure at Shangri-la Spa. I had heard of it's reputation through word of mouth and decided to test it's services. The ambiance was remarkable and the staff was informative, professional as well as personable. Naren's facial was not only a pampering experience but left my skin healthier and more vibrant for weeks. Jamie topped my afternoon as well as my polished look off with a manicure and tinting/ waxing my brows. I am impressed with how dramatic my brows appear, even after years of waxing and never achieving this look! I have since returned to Shangri-la and received the same outstanding service. Just when I thought my experience couldn't get any better, I decided to get a massage from their massage therapist, Betty. It is apparent Shangri-la only hires superb service technicians. We learned about this spa from a friend when we were in the area on vacation so I treated my wife to a facial and head massage. She raved about the treatment afterwards -- so relaxing and her skin was glowing. It was the highlight of her trip. If we lived in the area, my wife would be visiting regularly for sure. I was given a gift certificate on a visit in May 2009. I will definitely go back on my next visit. Besides the facial I will allow enough time for a body wrap and massage for sure. Naren is so knowledgeable on what's best for the skin type you have. If we lived closer, I'd be there on a regular schedule. I recommend this spa highly.
