I have gone to Shanghai Gourmet for years. Back in the 1990's this place had the chef from the consulate, it was delicious. But has since deteriorated. It still has some authentic dishes and is probably one of the few places in the east bay where mainlanders go to find something from home. It is better than most in the east bay if want more authentic and flavor than Panda (which is a joke). Now, we rarely go and usually leave a bit disappointed. more

  • We specialize in bringing Shanghai Gourmet cuisine to you. Our owner chef has received formal training and several cooking honors in Shanghai. He is the master of more than 150 menu items, half of them Shanghainese regional dishes. Almost midway between Beijing and Hong Kong, Shanghai has developed a cuisine that straddles the boarder between northern and southern styles. So if you are in the mood for authentic Chinese food, come in and try the delicious creations by our chef. We are located in Walnut Creek and open daily for lunch and dinner. We also accommodate catering for all of your event needs. Take-out is also available.
