Shamshiri Glendale

Everytime I tell my friends about this culinary delight they always want to try it, and we have always had a good time, good service and good food, what more can you ask for? Pros: Can't get rose petal ice cream like this anywhere else Cons: My only drawback it is a little hard to find more

When we first arrived... we noticed right away that the ambiance is a little too bright. We can always sit at the patio, but my company want to sit indoor. We also thought of walking out and switch to another Persian Restaurant before we order. It's just too bright. Then we decided to give it a try. The food took a while to arrive. Finally our order came and we noticed that the portions were generous. From the first bite of our Kebab, OMG it's so tasty! We were very impressed of the taste and barely talk to each other while eating. Then cousin looked at the dessert menu and we ordered the Persian Ice Cream with Pistachio Nuts & Rose Water. Never tried it before. It arrived and we noticed the texture is different. We tasted it and OMG, we're impressed again by the taste. We both love the rose perfume accent on the taste... it's just so classy to have rose perfume on your palate. The bill came... I would've spent more at Chilli's with less portion. We will come back again, and Shamshiri is now on our top list. Pros: Great Tasting Persian Cuisine Cons: Lighting is a little too bright. more

The first time I was introduced to middle eastern cuisine was at the Shamshiri in Hollywood in 1990. Since then I was hooked and have been a loyal customer!! Great food, great taste, good value for your money. The Glendale location is small but has outdoor sitting. Although there is free parking it gets full quickly. One more piece of advice, for some strange reason the Shamshiri in Northridge is not that great, the food tast is totally differenct. Not good. For years I've missed enjoying Persian cuisine because my husband never wanted to try it. Then a couple of years ago his company's Christmas party was at a ""middle eastern"" restaurant in Studio City. Now, he's open to trying different places. A friend recently brought us to Shamshiri...conveniently close to our home. It was wonderful. The food was abundant and the authentic choices great. There were several dishes I'd never tried before (many of the appetizers and the ""stews""). I will definitely be returning here soon. Pros: excellent menu Cons: crowded parking more

Ripoff is right. It's the perfect place to dine and for the following reasons. 1. Great Food. I recommend any of the chicken plates. the chicken is so tender and flavorful. 2. Great location. Close to Downtown Glendale. Catch a movie and then dinner. 3. Fast, friendly service. People were polite and the service was on point. 4. Like Ripoff said. Great Parking. Quick and free, which is something I wish I could say for downtown Glendale. 5. Romantic. It's a small restaurant where the atmosphere is conducive to intimacy. Don't bring the kids on a Friday or Saturday night if you know they tend to be a little loud or wiggle worms. This is definitely an adult place at night. I absolutely loved this restaurant for the following reasons: 1. No parking fees, plenty of parking available 2. Easy to find and close to the freeway 3. Quiet and elegant surroundings 4. The food is wonderful. You can't go wrong on anything on their menu. but best of all, I love their huge portions. I can never finish all the food on the plate. 5. The prices are very reasonable.
