I checked out this place recently and I was amazed by how tasty and juicy my burger was. I have been to many burger places on the Westside and couldn't be more pleasantly surprise...

I checked out this place recently and I was amazed by how tasty and juicy my burger was. I have been to many burger places on the Westside and couldn't be more pleasantly surprised by how great Shaka Shack's burgers were. I ordered the Kauaiian burger and added avocado and I savored every bite! Not only was the burger great, but it was very affordable! I definitely plan on making this place a favorite of mine! more

  • Welcome to Shaka Shack, a unique, cool, new burger place in Santa Monica. Shaka Shack has the laid-back vibe of a beachside cafe -- but with far better burgers than any touristy beachside spot.Stepping into the Shack is a trip to a tiki, surf, burger paradise, reminiscent of a 1960's rumpus room. Shaka Shack is the best kind of neighborhood restaurant, festive but mellow, with food that's consistently good and affordable. The basic burger is a quarter-pound Angus beef patty -- neither fast-food-thin nor thick as the gastropub hockey-puck burger -- served on a sweet bun reminiscent of an overgrown King's Hawaiian roll. The meat is nicely grilled, the toppings simple and classic: iceberg lettuce, tomato and a secret sauce that adds a subtle sweet and tangy kick. At $4.95 ($6.95, if you want the double), it's a deal.
