Shagor Indian Cuisine

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Indian food, and have eaten several times a week before I relocated. After a couple of months without it, I took a chance on Shagor---despite the poor reviews. What a mistake! If I could give less than one star, I would do so. It was very late, the driver was very rude, called me three times, forgot my drink (never received credit from them), and the food was literally inedible. I got Chicken Masala, thinking it was pretty safe. The sauce was terrible. And Naan...my favorite food group...I have never been so disappointed! Seriously, I wouldn't even consider it 'real' naan. This is the first review I have left, because I have had good success with Grub Hub, but if I can save someone from wasting their money and experiencing this kind of disappointment, I am happy to do so! more

I went here on a non date with someone who had never eaten Indian food, we told the waiter/owner we had no experience and left the ordering of the appetizers to him, he reccommended some items from the menu. One of which we chose (C2 I believe) we ordered it with the lamb. OMG!! It was tender, succulent, the tomatoes and peppers sweet, it was a treat; so we ordered a second entree instead of a desert. We figured we had a good thing so we stuck with the lamb choice, it was spiceier, and as indulgent as any food I have eaten. We both had a wonderful time, in this family style restaurant, that also has a touch of elegance. more

My wife and I love Indian food and have tried every Indian restaurant in Nashville. Shalimar has always been our favorite, but it's far and a bit expensive. more
