I am 16 years old and wanted to get my hair colored professionally. I saved my first paycheck and made an appointment with their ""best"" colorist. I sat in the chair and told the colorist what I wanted. She said it wouldn't look good and proceeded to talk me into highlights, which I did not want. She even had another stylist come over and tell me that highlights would look so cute.
I am not a mean person and didn't want to hurt her feelings and felt awkward, so I lied and told her that I loved it and it was what I wanted. I proceeded to go out in my car and bawl.
I have light brown hair and wanted to be blond on top and brown underneath. What I got was brown with dull blond highlights. After three days it already looks dull and not at all what I wanted.
My mother called and talked with the colorist and another appointment was made to have it redone.
When we called the morning of the appointment to confirm, the colorist proceeded to tell my mother that I would look like Heidi Montag or one of ""The Girls Next Door"", which are the Playboy bunnies. Ya, that was a nice image in my mother mind.
She then proceeded tell my mother that the more I got more highlights the lighter it would look. Duh! I didn't want highlights in the first place.
My question is, why not just do what I wanted in the first place and then my hair would be the color I wanted!
The colorist just didn't listen. She did what she wanted to do.
Now, we have to go to another colorist and get it redone correctly.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Didn't listen to what customer wanted
