I was referred to Dr. Shafizadeh by my GP who insisted that I see only him because Dr. Shafizadeh had treated my GP's dad. Turns out Dr. Shafizadeh treats other doctors and their families alot, which made me feel good about going to him. He carefully reviewed my history with me and asked me lots of questions about my lifestyle and family life. He then explained all of my treatment options and which he thought would be best based on my lifestyle. I never felt pushed or rushed into a single procedure. Together, we chose a slower, less risky treatment option for my prostate condition. I feel that I am in very good, honest hands with Dr. Shafizadeh. more

I had gone to see a famous urologist who was always on TV and whose ads were everywhere. I know, I know, who goes to a doctor who advertises? right? He charged me a wad of cash to spend 3 minutes with me (seriously, three minutes!) to tell me to book surgery with him ASAP. He barely glanced at my medical files, just at the PSA scores. I had him operate on me. I felt like a piece of meat because neither he nor his staff really spoke to me. I was in and out. In any event, a few months later, I began to not feel well. Went to my GP who ran some tests. My prostate cancer had not been cleanly removed and had spread. My GP told me to see the urologist he had recommended to begin with: Dr. Shafizadeh, which I did. The man spent an HOUR with me on the first visit. he has since operated on me twice and my last scan showed that my cancer is under control. Dr. S watches me vigilantly. He told my wife he plans to attend our 40th wedding anniversary! Its rare to have a brilliant doctor who is also a human being. God Bless. more

I am a huge, huge fan of Dr. Shafizadeh! Many of the other cops I work with recommended him very highly when I was looking for a urologist. And they were not wrong. he is not only smart, really smart, but a caring, nice person who really takes the time to hear his patients. I never felt rushed or pushed into making a decision I was not 100% comfortable with. I also like that Dr. Shafizadeh, while an excellent surgeon, also has great knowledge and interest in alternative and complimentary medicine. more

i went to Dr Shafizadeh after three other urologists did nothing to help my condition, this despite my spending at least 10 grand on procedures not covered by insurance with the other doctors. I got his number from a co-worker whose husband had been treated by Dr. S for prostate cancer many years ago and was doing great. Dr. Shafizadeh spent 45 minutes with me reviewing my history the first time we met. Six months later, all systems are go and I am back to my old self again. I can't recommend this man highly enough.
