I live in Columbia and I really like this theater. Yes, some of the screens are small and they don't really have anything that compares to some of the big theaters like Hollywood ...

Low-End of Average 3/19/2011

Let's start with the good: The staff seem very nice and competent, and I think the management is trying to do a good job. Also, the price of a movie is very reasonable at Shadybrook. Cleanliness is better than average, and seats are worn but reasonably comfortable. The not-so-good: The actual movie-watching experience is very sub-par. Sometimes, the picture will actually shake on the screen due to worn-out (or misadjusted) equipment. Audio is barely loud enough and lacks clarity, which forces you to strain to understand crucial dialogue. In short, many people—myself included—can enjoy a better movie experience from their living room couches. $8 for a Friday night movie ticket is attractive...but I won't be back until they can provide a quality viewing experience. more

Awful Place 11/11/2009

It's about the worst theater I've ever seen or been too. No ticket booth, so you have to wait in line line with concessions to get your tickets. The website design is really bad, it looks like something done with front page in the mid 90's. On the website you can't provide feedback or contact them. They just raised the prices on concessions for popcorn. It's like 15.00 for a what they now call a ""ex-large popcorn"". And on top of that the popcorn is not fresh. It's stale and chewy. It's impossible to find any place to park. There is basically only one ""lane"" that is out and three lanes that are ""in"". I also got chocolate covered raisins and they were so old they had turned white, when I took back they refused to give me a refund. I no longer go there anymore. I can't wait until they build a new one in spring hill. Cons: Poor Quality, Prices too high. Parking Bad more

Better than I thought it'd be 5/24/2007

Considering that it's a local, individually owned theater, it's pretty good. I just moved to the area, and have to admit that their not having a dedicated ticket booth unnerved me a bit. I had to stand around confused until I heard someone at the concession stand ordering their tickets. But the theaters are a decent size, the seats are nice, and the tickets are cheap. It also helps their case that they're the only theater within a 45 minute drive, but it honestly is a cute little town theater. more

Useless site/Forget it 2/7/2003

You can't even get a list of movies playing or show times because with every date you select you get a message saying ""No show times listed for this date."" The problem's been reported to City Search who claims they notified the theater but neither has made any corrections. more

Nice Little Theater. 10/17/2002

I live in Columbia and I really like this theater. Yes, some of the screens are small and they don't really have anything that compares to some of the big theaters like Hollywood 27, but it is a home town owned theater and I don't have to drive 45 miles to see a movie. Pros: close to home, Free popcorn mondays, home town owners Cons: not great sound, couple small screens, too many kids on Fri more

fresh popcorn please!!!!!! 7/20/2002

There should be a cheaper price to view a movie in the cheap seats (screen the size of one @ home). It is near impossible to find a showtime....the phone is always busy, and its never posted here. Easy to head to coolsprings, alot more bang for the buck, and better concessions......p.s. for everyone who is as frustrated as me, there is a web page they sometimes post on......djis.net Pros: workers seem pleasant Cons: consessions suck, smells bad in theater, hard to find listings more

upset 7/17/2002

the service sucks. it is always too hot or too cold ant then when you go and tell them it takes them three hours to get it fixed. the film strip is always getting broke or something. for the quality of the the area and bthe service it is NOT worth the cost of the movie or the popcorn . it just infuriates me. thanks for reading. and one more thing, where can you grt the movie times at anyway, beside the newspaper? why are they not posted here? Cons: no parking, bad theatres, sad selection more
