DO NOT LIVE HERE 12/10/2008

Terrible experience at Shadowood and with Management especially. THEY LOST OUR RENT CHECK and never said anything, just reported us to a COLLECTIONS AGENCY, leaving a permanent scar on my roommate's credit record. Took months to get them to find the check and they FINALLY straighted it out after hours upon hours of fighting them. Management was obstinate and rude with a terrible attitude. Had us sign a lease for a 2nd floor apt and then when we showed up on moving day, made us move into a 1st floor apartment (dangerous! 2 peoples cars were broken into in the year I lived there!) Our apartment had nasty carpeting, and then they charged us at the end for stains that were already there(!), AND put in new carpeting right after we moved out. They charged us a kitchen clean up fee even though we left it SPOTLESS and MUCH cleaner than when we got it. They do this to everyone and it is a scam. I wish I had TAKE PICTURES to prove them I am right and they are ripping people off. DO NOT LIVE HERE! Cons: They will try to scam you out of money any chance they get, and when you try to call upper management they dont return your phone calls. more

worst experience in renting..... NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! 9/4/2008

On the surface, Shadowood looks like a nice place to live. It's on two buslines, so if you are a student and you don't have a car, that is a huge plus. Also, it's very quiet at night, but what does that matter, it is WAY overpriced. I started out there with a 2-bedroom townhouse, lots of space for a single couple(really small kitchen by the way), but it was too expensive for my girlfriend and I, so we opted for the smaller and relatively cheaper 1-bedroom. When I say cheaper I mean it was $579 a month for around 450+ sq. ft.! That's terrible, and by the time we were about to move out, they were going to raise the rent on us! Uncool! The management also, somehow, lost any records of our deposits, saying we never did pay our deposit, and then after we complained numerous times the deposit receipts were miraculously found. Then when it came time to inquire about when our deposit would be returned to us, they said we would not be getting it back because the apartment was not cleaned! It's THEIR job to do that anyways, and management has changed nearly three times(it seems) since we moved in, so whoever was managing the office when we left was barely aware that my girlfriend and I were even tenents! All in all, not a pleasent expereince to say the least. I'm not an angry person by any lengths, but I have no reservations recommending that you look elsewhere for an apartment. Overpriced, run-down, incompitent management, terrible maintenece program, but quiet! Don't bother! Pros: queit Cons: everything else you could think of in an apartment complex more

Very old community, run down, new management is TERRIBLE 3/5/2007

Please do NOT rent here. The place is dark, old, and needs lots of repairs, and the management is very unprofessional. RUN! Cons: Poor management, unprofessional. Community is very old and run down more

Living here was a HUGE mistake!!!!! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! 9/4/2006

The management is absolutely horrible....they are nice enough as people, but they do NOT know how to do their jobs and are terribly informed on the policies, etc. Also, I have only lived here three months and we have had the repair man out three times to fix everything from the washer and dryer, to both toilets and sinks, and to put roache traps out for the scores that invaided my place! My mail never comes properly, the apartment is very dark and an awkward size for furniture, and there is just simply not enough storage space. I hate living here, and their policy on subleasing is a confusing MESS...they have royally screwed me over. DO NOT COMMIT YOURSELF TO A LEASE HERE! LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!! Pros: good location is about it Cons: management services and policies, mail delivery, size of rooms more

Shadowood is NOT worth the money 8/19/2006

This will be the third year I have lived in Shadowood Apartments. I regret signing a lease!!! The management and staff change constantly, amenities are canceled AFTER new students have already signed leases and you can NEVER get anyone to help you in the office. Anytime I have complained I was treated less than poorly, and given ABSOLUTELY NOT RESPECT AT ALL! DO NOT move into these apartments or else you will be like me, stuck with a lease and hating every moment of it. \r Shadowood Apartments are poorly managed and operated. The management has NO respect for those who live there and after signing a lease, you WILL lose your amenities. It's NOT worth it. I have lived here for years and have NOTHING GOOD TO SAY! more
