Although it took me 40 minutes to find a parking place, I finally did one Thursday evening...but had only 15-20 minutes to try on and find the "perfect" dress. The staff was sympathetic to my adventure to find parking and, in what time that was left before closing, I not only tried on 5-8 dresses but found the PERFECT one for an upcoming wedding. The dress needed to be altered and, again, I was treated like royalty... OH yes, Seychelles is the place to go for a dress that is unique! more

Gorgeous in Green 6/8/2007

The dresses in this store are beautiful.If you are going somewhere special and don't want to be concerned about seeing your dress on someone else- I highly recommend this shop. You will feel like a million bucks. Everything here is a "head turner" They have a great diverse selection that you will pay the price for. But it is so worth it. I did not find the staff to be particularly friendly or helpful until I was actually at the cash register. However, I don't go to the shop for the staff but the dresses. Shop on!!! more

Seychelles - Fabulous Dresses 8/21/2006

Wow, I had a totally different experience than Cindy K. and Liz W. I love Seychelles! Shopping there is always a blast.... If you're really serious about getting a fabulous dress and turning heads....here's the secret of Seychelles.....Ask for the owner Pansy. If she's not in the New Haven store go and see her in Seychelles Westport. Its totally worth the trip! I had a high school reunion and she totally hooked me up in the most beautiful dress that I own. I had so much fun shopping there and I received tons of compliments at the party.... more

Seychelles -- beautiful dresses 9/3/2005

If you need a fancy dress for a special occasion -- this is the place to go. It's a small shop with a nice selection of dresses for it's size. The dresses are upscale and so are the prices. I've "window shopped" in here many times and have seen tons of dresses that l love -- but they are all out of my price range. They do occasionally have sales. The staff is hit or miss -- sometimes they are helpful, sometimes not. If you want something a step above the department stores -- this is the place to go for that special dress. more

Pretty in Pink 8/21/2005

This is the prettiest shop on Chapel Street with the prettiest dresses inside. Seychelles has beautiful dresses from a number of designers including my favorite Betsy Johnson. The store is very tidy and the window dressings are always beautiful. I've never had good luck with the staff inside. Maybe I don't look like their clientèle. Either way, it's a beautiful shop if you're looking to be the bell of the ball. more
