I truly hate to write a review that only has one star because it's not in my nature. I will start by saying that Sestra does offer thousands of dress styles not only for the bride, but for the bridesmaids as well. I purchased my bridal gown at Bella Rosa (who are great by the way!) prior to finding my dream bridesmaid dresses at Sestra. When I entered Sestra Jenifer (one of the sisters) met me at the door and helped a few of my girls try on different styles/colors so I could make a final decision. She was wonderful at that time. We found the dress I wanted and decided to add a black sash to it that was on a different dress. She made it seem like it was the easiest fix. I was told my girls could just pay an additional $40.00 per dress and that would cover the sashes material and getting them sewn on. Needless to say, when it came time for the girls to get the sashes attached, the price went way up. I was told that they never agreed to that and that they could not do it for that price. After breaking down in tears on the phone because my NINE girls that each purchased their dresses from Sestra Bridal for $238.00/person (without alterations!) would have to spend an additional $60.00 on their sash to have it made and sewn on. This brings the total price for a sash to $100.00. That is CRAZY! I loved the sash when I first saw it and $40.00 was perfect, I decided I would buy the girls their shoes and they could buy the sash in place of the shoes so they wouldn't be spending a crazy amount. To make a long story short, my mom ended up paying for all of the girls sashes on her credit card so they would be allowed to pick up their dresses (since sestra was not going to release them even though they had already spent $238.00 on them $40.00 of that being for the sash!) so the girls could get their dresses. I found out from Jenifer herself that the alterations are not through Sestra. It's from other alteration companies that come in and do the work for them. I was told that they had nothing to do with Sestra. I don't understand her saying this because 1. If Sestra hires a company to do work for them and they are handling the money/payments and the reciept says Sestra, then as far as I am concerned Sestra is to be held accountable for that work to the consumer. If after they make it right with the customer Sestra wants to fight out the situation behind closed doors with the help they hired thats fine, but thats not what they do! They do not have a policy of THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Bottom line, I have been a customer service representative at the same company for 7 years, you ALWAYS make sure the customer is happy in the end. Believe me with nine girls purchasing from sestra for my wedding, they didn't loose any money at all. Of my nine girls, 6 were planning their weddings right behind me. All of them were planning on using Sestra for their dress and bridesmaids dresses as well. In the end after them hearing conversations I had on the phone and dealing with Sestra their selves, none of them used sestra. I wish I had a positive review to write but this is far from it. If you do use Sestra, make sure you get every last promise in writing with a signature!
