Serves You Right Catering, catered our wedding in April at the Joaquin Miller Community Center in Oakland. People are still talking about the amazing food! We worked with Marcie who is an absolute gem. She put me so at ease and really did double-duty as a coordinator. On top of serving incredible food her team made the place look stunning -- better than I ever imagined. She took some creative liberties with the centerpieces and candles, all of which I loved. They assigned a personal server to my new wife and I so we never lacked for a drink or appetizer. The food; everything was very good, but if you happen to be using SYR for a party, here were some of my favorites: Cocktail Hour: Goat Cheese Quesadillas & BBQ Chicken Sliders Reception: Spinach salad with Feta cheese (anything with feta cheese makes me happy and this salad was no exception) They served a beef tri tip with smashed potatoes, and the bite I had was very tasty. Everyone at the table cleaned their plates, always a good sign! I asked for a vegetarian option & I was expecting some sort of pasta, but it ended up being some sort of tomato, vegetable dish with a wonderful breadcrumb, cheese crust- it was so good and I appreciated the caterer being so accommodating. For dessert we had an apple& pecan pies instead of wedding cake that may have just been the best pie I've ever tasted We tried out three other caterers and we were sold by the quality of the food and our connection with Marcie. Good: I cannot say enough fabulous things about the Serves You Right catering crew! We selected them to cater our March wedding at Hiller Highlands in Oakland and it was a perfect choice. Marcy guided us through our planning and made every step enjoyable. She really understood the vision we had for our " very fun-not typical" wedding. Her creativity and eye for detail made our night better than we imagined. Friends and family are still calling us to tell us how AMAZING the food was!. Other: The staff was so friendly and efficient. Both my husband and my father were so impressed, they took a moment during dinner to stop in the kitchen and applaud the staff. Our wedding would have been a completely different day had we chosen a different caterer. We couldn't be happier with Serves You Right Catering and are so grateful for the wonderful memories we have.. more

When Serves You Right catered my friends wedding years ago I knew I had to have them cater our Christmas party at work. They are always so booked it took 2 years for me to get them. I was smart and called them in March last year! I think one of the best things they have going for them is that they have an event coordinator in house and included in the price. Marcy did such a good job at our friends wedding and handling a party for 600 at a warehouse in SF was just no big deal. Of course we were on a budget this year and she had great ideas to cut cost but make it an event to remember. I am going to call them next week to book our party for next year! more

Serves You Right catered my wedding in September at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek and we could not have been happier. I've been to at least 4 events and the food is always delicious, beautiful and way yummy. My favorite is their pasta with sundried tomatoes. They cater for my company holiday party every year and do an amazing job. Absolutely the best deal for your money. You can look at other company's proposals along with the costs they don't always include, (linen, service staff, china, glassware, silverware, etc.) and then compare to Serves you Right-dollar for dollar your best deal always. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly. I can't stress that enough. Friendly and upbeat they're on top of it without being on top of you. They take the pressure off of what could be a very stressful situation. For example...a wedding. It's suppose to be the happiest day of your life right? So why should you have to worry about the small and large things that go into it? Thankfully you have these guys to help you with every step before the event. They have on-site chefs, an extensive staff of servers, bartenders, and event coordinators not to mention have connections with some of the top vendors in town so if there's something you want they can find it.
