Serenity Garden Cafe

I have to say, I can't comment on the food because the service was so bad that we left before we could get the drinks. As soon as we walked in the door, the guy behind the counter was too bays counting cash to acknowledge us, and a few waitresses sped by us with also no response. Finally, we asked if we could sit outside on the patio (no one was out there) and were promptly told that we could not move the tables together. Huh?? Not sure why we couldn't move tables together, but it was rather rude. We sat outside and looked over the menus over. After a few minutes, a possible New Jersey transplant came out and told us (plus another couple that was sitting out) there in a ""listen up people"" voice that ""We are short staffed today, so don't expect you're food quickly."" This is an exact quote, I kid you not. We left, but my husband was nice enough to go back in the restaurant and cancel the drink order. As he was leaving he heard the same woman say to the kitchen staff, ""The people that HAD to sit outside are leaving."" \r \r We went to C Bolt's a couple of doors down (a restaurant owned by a mother/son) and they treated us so kindly and the food was delicious. . They also said that he hears that a lot and I noticed a couple other reviews that said the same thing. I'm not into paying people to be unappreciative of my patronage or treat me poorly, especially on vacation. \r \r Don't watson your time at this place... They don't want your business. more

Good hot food!!!We had a great lunch. Even busy they beat l and l beanery hands down. Much friendlier and well run. more

what a disappointing lunch we had today in BR\r \r was hoping for a quaint mountain lunch experience but instead received poor service oops i mean no\r service\r \r we were never greeted and when we finally were acknowledged we were told the wait would be 10 min. with several empty tables in view\r \r i only gave it one star because i couldn't publish my review without giving it atleast one\r \r don't waste your time or money there is much better food available in BR\r \r once we finally ordered we were never checked on or given refills\r \r i hate to say it but our food was just a bag of frozen fries and a sandwich that tasted nothing more than glorified fast food\r \r what a shame because the location is great and i was really craving some fresh mountain southern food more
