Before I went into Serenity Acres I thought that I had dealt with the experiences from my past. I thought I had moved on, and that my drug and alcohol use was my way of ‘handling” my problems. It was only during my stay at Serenity Acres that I was able to discuss and interpret these experiences and feelings. The major difference between Serenity Acres and other treatment centers was having a one on one counseling session every day. I would not have done nearly as well if I did not have the counselor that I did. I felt a real connection to my counselor and I was comfortable having open discussions with him. The daily sessions were absolutely vital to my recovery, and it is because of Serenity Acres that I know how to live sober today. more

Serenity Acres has a warm and welcoming feeling with an environment that was peaceful and conducive to my recovery. The experience helped me to develop structure in my life and implement new positive behaviors, while the staff demonstrated through their own experience, strength, and hope that recovery is attainable. more

Deciding to work recovery by quitting ALL substances and agreeing to go to Serenity Acres, has shown me a new way to live. The holistic approach to treating addiction is effectively achieved through multiple activities and groups. Open mindedness, willingness, and forgiveness are the tools and suggestions to continue down the right path. My counselor Michael was the perfect counselor for me because he didn’t take any crap and he kept it real with me all the time. He taught me forgiveness and how to work on myself internally. He is awesome and he has saved my life. Serenity Acres is a very welcoming and comfortable way to go through treatment. more
