Serafini's Restaurant

I had the misfortune of growing up in Erie until I was 8 and we thankfully moved. Serafini's was and still is a great memory. Being a child I couldn't speak to the quality but it was fun. Re: the post about food in the South-Erie wouldn't know decent food if it fell from the sky like the snow. I've lived in the south for 25 years and can attest to its culinary superiority to anything Erie (except oxroast) could ever dream of having. Who in the devil would "miss" Erie? Sad. Very sad. more

My husband and I are originally from Erie now living in the South. There are really no true Italian restaurants down here and we literally crave getting back to Erie and "our" Serafini's. It is not unusual for us to eat there at least three times in a five day period. Not only is the food delicious the service is impeccable. We just found out that they ship orders and what could be a more perfect Christmas gift for my husband than their meatballs and sauce. He will love it! more

I have been all over the country and had italian cusine from coast to coast. Serafini's is not only the best in Erie but in the top 5 in my national rating. The service and food are great. Also the combination of the atmostphere is great! The offer everything, great bar, great dinning room, and if you dont want to dine out go ahead and call in anything form the menu for take out. Great resturant! more

If you couldn't tell by my post heading I don't like this place. I ordered gnocchi, of which came out literally in a clump. Overcooked and actually even cold. Now how you can OVER cook it and then have it cold is beyond me but it happened! The sauce leaves a lot to be desired. The best thing about it was the drinks, they came with ice! Over priced and hoping to survive on a long standing Erie name they really have gone down hill since their inception long ago. I'm certain mama and papa are rolling in their graves over how the place has gone in recent years and I don't expect it to get much better. Poor service. Lousy cooks. Overly priced. Do yourself a favor and drive a little further into Erie and hit someplace where Italian food is still good., perhaps Hector's or Arnones. more

Serafini's is one of my favorite Italian restaurant in Erie. The food and service is excellent, the only problem is deciding what to order. Their veal dishes are outstanding which includes Parmesan, Marsala, Piccata, and catatori. The spaghetti sauce is a little on the sweet side and the pasta is home made. Did I mention the bread, delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good old fashion Italian meal at a reasonable price. more

I can remember going to Serafini's as a little child over 30 some years ago and it is still going strong. Erie has a very close knit Italian community and they know where to eat. Serafini's is one of those places. They have the best bread (Bill's Bakery) and there house dressing is wonderful. All their Italian dishes are great and tasty and the restaurant is so cozy. You will not regret spending an evening there. more
