Worst

Be extremely wary of the so-called fresh, made-that-day sandwiches in the deli section of Sendiks Bayside. On a few occasions I've gotten one that was just this side of spoiling....

Be extremely wary of the so-called fresh, made-that-day sandwiches in the deli section of Sendiks Bayside. On a few occasions I've gotten one that was just this side of spoiling. Yesterday (8-17-15) was the straw that broke the camel's back and, I won't be back!! I took back the half-beef sandwich with the slimey, brown lettuce and the so over-the-sell-buy date it reeked to high heaven beef and cheese!! Disgusting!! They gave me my money back but were NOT nice about it. Danny or Donny, the so-called manager, thought the lettuce looked OK. This is the kind of produce you use for compost, but I certainly don't eat it in my house. They can keep their ptomaine inducting deli crap from now on. more

Right in my Area 1/30/2006

It's in my area, but is it in yours? Sendik's is best for it's fresh juices, variety in produce (mostly fruit, but vegetables, too) and small, intimate shopping experiences. I think there's also ones around the city- still, the juices are exellent, fresh, and better priced than any other hyper-health food store, or anything like that. try it- it's cozy, and you'll probably see about six people from my high school working there...sweet. more

Fresh Like a Market Should Be 8/16/2005

Sendik's is a great place to shop if you're looking to buy quality produce. They have a great selection of fresh meats and a variety of cured sausages. Their bakery also has delicious cakes; I recommend the fresh fruit tart. You can purchase fresh dried fruits,nuts, and chocolates in containers sold by weight. There is a wide selection in their cheese and deli department where they usually have samples sitting out. They also sell great products you can't find in bigger grocery stores, so if you're a bit of a food snob, come check it out. more
