All the reviews about this shop proved to be true. We have a Pacifica that we have had a consistant problem with. It has been in 4 shops one being the dealership and they could not find the problem. They did however misdiagnose and have us do many unnecessary repairs that cost us over 1200.00. I called Select to see how much it would cost to look at it since all the other shops had charged me a fee. Jeff said no charge bring it in. I did the checked it for free and did a adjustment and charged me nothing. They said to return if it continued. When I called to say it had I told them it would be after my husband got off that we could bring it in. Jeff offered to pick it up. It ended up being my transmission Jeff worked with my warranty to get most of the charges covered. When he gave me my final bill he deducted some for a military discount. This shop is truly outstanding. They are very friendly and make you feel like a valued customer. I feel like I've been going there for years when I walk in. Having car problems take it here you have nothing to lose. more

This was my first time to have to get MAJOR repairs done on my vehicle. I was referred by a good friend and I'm SO glad I listened. The guys here are so helpful and thorough. They went above and beyond what they had to do and saved me A LOT of money. They are honest and patient and didn't try to gouge me so that they could make more money. They made sure that I knew what was going on every step of the way and made sure the work was done right before they let me pick my vehicle up. The staff is so nice and easy to talk to, they undersstand what it is to have a family to take care of and not have much money. \r I'm so glad I took my truck here highly recommend them to everyone. more

This is my second time dealing with this shop...it was so great with my husband's vehicle that I decided to bring mine it. The guys there are wonderful. Real family people who believe in taking care of their customers. They saved me so much by catching such a small problem....even knowing I was pleased and they would have made more money in the long run for just letting it go, they didn't want anything to happen to me or my family. That kind of honesty and caring isn't something that you will find just anywhere. I will continue to go back whenever I need any kind of service because this place is a family place and they truly take care of their customers, their prices are GREAT (and believe me, I checked around) and their family environment makes me feel welcomed, safe, and cared about. Select Transmissions did my a favor by setting up a payment plan for my honda accord. They let me get it fixed and pay a down payment and make monethly payments. I didnt have all the money to get it fixed right away, so they helped me. It was really cool of them. more

I want to point out that I have not had any repair service completed here at Select yet, but I talked to the service guy on the phone and was told that the check up was free. They checked my car, found the problem and did not charge me to check it. They were nice and polite and put everything in writing. more

So a national chain shop told me that my transmission was shot, but they didnt know how bad it was. It was going to cost me $700 bucks to figure it out. I looked for some other shops to give me a second opinion and I ended up at Select because Jeff told me he would give a totally free diagnostic and a totally free written estimate. It turns out that the free diagnostic discovered that it was not the transmission at all, it was a bearing on the wheel and cost me less than the diagnostic fee at the other shop. Save money, buy local and not from the national shops that want to take your money and forget who you are. more

Pretty Decent People?? Here at Select Transmission. I took my Honda Accord to Select Transmission thinking that I was gonna be broke by the time that I got it fixed. I was wrong. They fixed some electrical thing and changed the fluid and poof, my work was working like it should. They advised me of some upcoming maintenance items I should take care of as well. Good guys, highly recommended. more

I have a Nissan Maxima and the transmission started acting crazy. It was like trying to ride a bull. I took my car to the local Nissan dealership and almost passed out on the floor when they told me the cost of the transmission replacement. It was ridiculous. \r \r I looked on the internet and found Select Transmission and Automotive in San Antonio and called them to have them check it out. They advertise that they tow for free and do a free diagnostic, which they did both for free. They quoted me a repair cost of less than half of what Nissan wanted and they gave me TRIPLE the warranty that the dealership was going to give me. Also, if you are military like I am, you can score HUGE with the military discount. 15% off of a major repair is a lot of money. \r \r I recommend that you call the guys at Select Transmission today to save some serious money and to get the best warranty for your repairs. When my transmission started slipping, I took my truck to select and they rebuilt it at a good price. I even got the option to upgrade some of the parts inside my transmission to make my truck run tougher on the trail. Jeff really walked me through what I needed to make my truck shift strong. I am very happy with the service I got and the warranty is great. more

I had my transmission diagnosed at a big shop, and was confident in the diagnosis I received, but no confident that I was getting a fair shake with the price. I called Select Transmission and Automotive because I saw an advertisement on the internet for a 15% military discount. \r \r I was impressed at the service I received. They confirmed that I did have a transmission problem, they gave me a price up front instead of making me agree to let them take my transmission apart and guessing what it might cost. The cost that they gave me for the repair was less than half of the dealers estimate and was nearly $900 less than the low end price of the other shop my Honda had been in. \r \r The service that I received was top notch, they employees were friendly and they actually showed me how an automatic transmission worked. (to be honest, I had no clue)\r \r I would recommend these guys to everyone, and if you are in the military or retired military, don't forget your 15% savings. I noticed a light on my dash and when I called the dealer, they told me it would cost me $100 just to tell me why it was on! So, I searched on here and found the web site for Select and found that they could tell me why that light was on at no charge. When I got there Jeff went right to scanning my car and explained the problem. He was even nice enough to help me find a rental car, because my poor car needed to be there alittle while. When I got my car back, the light was gone, it drives much better and I am a very happy customer. Jeff and the guys at select are top-notch!! more
