This guy is a Psycho 9/7/2011

I came to his office because I had problem with school and friends. He was very mean to me. Made me wait in his waiting room for an hour and then prescribed me medication and I was out of his office in 20 minutes. From there I took his medication and it made me feel even more depressed. He did not care at all about me and I really think something is wrong with him. He should not be a doctor. I finally switched doctors and now I am doing better off the medication he prescribed. THIS GUY IS A PSYCHO. I would not recommend him. more

One of the Best Psychiatrists I've seen 1/17/2011

This guy is easily the best psychiatrist I've seen. My wife was hooked on Oxycontin, my marriage in shambles.\r My daughter's depression kept getting worse. We saw another Doctor in Palm Harbor who spent 5 mins with us, gave us a bunch of prescriptions and packed us off. Dr. Sekhon took a lot of time to hear our whole problem. He treated my wife with Suboxone, us with marital therapy and gave my daughter medicine and counselling. My wife has been drug free for an year, my daughter goes to SPC and our marriage is stronger than ever. This Doctor is one of a guy; You can'tt go wrong with him! more

Turned away... 11/10/2010

I am disappointed to say first hand that Dr. Sekhon has no problem with telling you he's too busy for you. My son stopped going for a few months to see him. When we tried to reinstate appointments, he basically said sorry, we're full and can't see him anymore. We were turned away by him. If you still choose him, know that he's good, which is why I gave 4 stars, but he's not concerned where he'll extend anything extra.... Luckily, we have a wonderful doctor who is intelligent and has a big heart for my son, and we should have stayed with and listened to him...and he is good enough to accept us back. He's my son's original doctor and we are going to stay committed to him because he hasn't given up on us and has been there when we needed him. If you are new to Sekhon, give him a shot, but just be sure you don't stop going for any length of time. He's not the kind of person who will pick up where you left off. more

A very good psychiatrist especially for Opiate addicts 8/22/2010

Dr. Sekhon is a first class psychiatrist. He spent a lot of time understanding my complex problem with Oxycontin, depression and marital issues.\r He treated me with Suboxone, Effexor and individual/marital counselling. My life is back on track.\r I never had to wait more than 10 minutes. I have recommended him to several friends.\r If you're a drug addict looking for more drugs, like the last guy who wrote an immature review you should find someone else. more

Saved our son's life and gave us hope:the best! 1/28/2009

Thank God for Dr. Sekhon!\r Our, son was hopelessly dependent on opiates, in and out of hospitals and jail. Dr. Sekhon assessed him thoroughly, spent a lot of time with us, and truly listened to our story. He bonded very well with our son,\r treated him with respect, and gave him hope. When our son was in jail, Dr.Sekhon took the time to call the jail psychiatrist, and ensure proper treatment there as well. \r Dr. Sekhon is a very caring and humble doctor who understands the needs of his patients and their families. He is very professional and well read. His knowledge of Suboxone and antidepressants is excellent. Compared to every other psychiatrist we've met, he actually provides psychotherapy, and does not just write pill prescriptions.\r As parents of a depressed addicted son, we recommend him highly and referred several of our close friends with similar problems with their adult children.\r Someone who wanted pills by phone and wrote a bad review, lost an excellent doctor! Pros: Very knowledgeable and caring; excellent staff and reachabilty Cons: Is not conned easily by addicts, but gets along very well with them and truly helps them. more

One of the best psychiatrists I've met 1/28/2009

Dr.Sekhon is a wonderful doctor and person.\r He is very educated and compassionate. He helped me beat my Oxycontin problem completely, and my depression is almost gone. I have hope and my family back.\r Dr. Sekhon is always very careful about making sure I have enough medicine till my next appointment, and frankly this has kept me honest and clean!\r While reading the reviews, someone who was used to bad treatment in a foreign country, was unhappy Dr. Sekhon would not give him a lot of medicine over the phone. This probably saved that man's life! Pros: Caring and very well educated, both with medicines and therapy Cons: If you are doctor shopping for pills, you will be disappointed like ""Roberto"" more

He saved me and my family 1/28/2008

Dr. Sekhon is a wounderful doctor. I've refered many of my dear friends to him, and will continue to do so. He presents himself in a professional manner, is always on time, quality of care is 5 star. Doc goes above and beyond for all his patients. Thanks God, he was available when I needed him. Pros: He makes himself available, great listener, and he is wounderful for children more

Professional, Fexible and Helpfull 6/8/2007

It's taken many doctors to finally find one who was helpful. Dr. Sekhon has been very helpful, his staff is very nice. If there's ever a moment I need to speak with him, he always gets back to me the same day. Been seeing Dr. Sekhon for over a year and feel the best I've ever felt. He is fexible when it comes to scheduling, it may take some time but I always get the day and time I want/need. I never wait more then 10 minutes in the waiting room. I highly recommend Dr. Harbir Sehkon. Pros: Professional, Knows his field very well Cons: No complaints more

Worst MD I have ever come across in my life.. please stay away !!!! 9/7/2006

Dr Sekhon must be the most un-ethical, un-professional, money motivated MD topped up with a serious lack of knowledge of psychiatry. I explained my problems to him. He pretty much didnt listed and double all the medicines that I was taken. The medicines had a really bad effect on me. I explained to him on the next visit. He made some changes. The really bad part is that at the second visit, I told him that in Sept. it would be very hard for me to see him due to some trainning at my job. He told me that it would not be a problem because he also has some conferences to attend and will be busy. I asked about refils on the medicine, because he has the policy of not refills over the phone (understandable), and he advised me that it would not be a problem in my case. When the time came I called him for the medicine... they almost never answer the phone, and they dont give out the pager number. For two days I could not get a whole of him. The second day when they finally answer the phone I was explaining the situation to his secretary when dr. Sekhon took over the conversation and told me that he wont prescribe over the phone, told me to go back to my original dr. (in a different country) to see if the will refill, and then hung up the phone. I was left with withdraws in control substances that made my life miserable for quite some time. As result, many negative things happened in my life. Currently I'm seeking legal action against dr. Sekhon Pros: Nothing really Cons: Un-professional, Un-ethical, Serious lack of knowledge more
