Beautiful dresses, Awful service! 4/4/2006

I bought my wedding dress at Secret Garden and now I wish I would have taken my money elsewhere. We were not thrilled with the service when we went dress shopping in the first place, but the dress was exactly what I was looking for so we purchased it anyways. In other bridal stores we were waited on, but not at Secret Garden. If we asked for something they simply pointed to the general direction as if we were buying a gallon of milk at the grocery store. The shop owner told us that it was a "self service store with self service prices". I spent about $1000 on the dress and that does not include a veil, shoes, slip, or any of that. Thats not self service pricing in my world. We also had problems with the dress order. They ordered the wrong color! Luckily, I went to the designer's website and noticed that they had two shades of ivory and that my order slip had the wrong one listed on it, otherwise i wouldn't have even gotten the dress that I wanted!! Then to top off the experience we ended up having to run around last minute looking for bridesmaid's dresses with very little time before the wedding. When we bought the dress (about 6 months before the wedding) we also picked out bridesmaid dresses and were planning on coming back to order them. The girl who rang up our order said that we could get those dresses ordered up to two months before the wedding. We came back a little more than two months prior to the wedding to place the order and were then informed by another person that those dresses needed to be ordered at least 4 months ahead of time, and that's a rush order! The store owner did not even apologize for the mistake, but instead just told us that the girl who helped us was in training. If she was in training and didn't yet know what she was doing then why was she allowed to wait on customers? That question was never answered, and no attempt to apologize or help our situation in any way, shape, or form was made. The inventory at the store was nice, and we found a lot that we liked, but if I had to do it all over again, I would definitely not spend my money with this store! They do not know how to treat thier customers!! more
