Third time using Seattle Tree Preservation. First two projects were pretty small but both were done well. This project included clean up of large tree against utility lines which...

Worst

Can't comment on their tree pruning, as I know little about trees. They could use some customer service training, as I found them condescending and rude.

I would hire no one else 7/4/2010

Hiring Seattle Tree Preservation is like hiring Cisco Morris (Gardening with Cisco) to manage your garden. John and his crew have kept our trees healthy and beautifully shaped for decades, and one is approx 90-100 years old. John has a masters degree in this field. Despite the business stresses that could affect anybody's mood, I wouldn't hire anybody else. I rely on Seattle Tree Preservation's guidance and work and have been 100 per cent satisfied for a very long time. more

Free Arborist Chips Not Free 7/29/2009

STP delivered arborist chips and damaged my brand new fence and gate. I was there when the driver hit my fence. The driver acknowledged that he hit my fence. I called the company to report the damage and was advised to get an estimate for repair. The owner, John, showed up today, unannounced, and I showed him the damage caused by his driver. John was belligerent and said "I should have charged $125. for the chips!" He kept saying that the chips were free and what more did I want. His parting words that he had no intention of paying to "replace" my fence = odd since the fence is new as of January 2009. I expect I have a fight on my hands to get STP to pay for the damage caused. I sure hope they have liability insurance!? more

Don't Call Them! 6/23/2009

Seattle Tree Preservation Inc showed up next to our house a at about 7 am and started using their chipper soon after. The noise from it was louder than anything I have heard in construction in 30 years. I reached the owner and a asked him if he knew how loud his chipper was. Instead of apologizing he started insulting me and hung up the phone. Stay away from this people the owner is rude condescending and will not look at the integrity of his operations. more

Great service,I give them 5 Star more

completely unprofessional -- bullying tactics and incomplete work 10/3/2008

We hired STP to perform tree pruning after receiving a low estimate. They performed HALF the scope of work they agreed to in the contract, and demanded immediate payment in FULL at the top of their estimate range. We requested that they review the project to estimate what was necessary to correct and complete the work; they threatened us with a lawsuit and terminated the relationship. Face-to-face, John was belligerent, angry, insulting, screaming, threatening, bullying, and all around unprofessional. more

We hired STP to perform tree pruning after receiving a low estimate. They performed *half* of the scope of work they agreed to in the contract, and demanded immediate payment in full at the top of their estimate range. We requested that they estimate what was necessary to correct and complete the work. They threatened us with a lawsuit and terminated the relationship. Face-to-face, John was belligerent, angry, insulting, screaming, threatening, bullying, and all around unprofessional. DO NOT HIRE! more

Seattle Tree Preservation 8/16/2006

We've used Seattle Tree Preservation in the past. They have a great service and price well against other bidders for the same services. I think they have two locations--one north and one south. I have used the south location. The guy's name is Lynn Aldrich (yes, male). He has a cute dog too. more

Seattle Tree Preservation - Excellent Work 7/8/2006

We have had a number of large trees removed with STP. They did excellent work, the owner was very thorough in explaining the process. They ground out the stumps with minimal disruption to other areas. We also used them to do some restorative work to an enormous tulip tree on our lot. We were repouring the concrete sidewalk over its roots and were concerned about stressing the roots. They came in and delicately excavated some of the damaged roots and were able to seal the wounds before we poured the slab. Sadly in the process of the re-landscaping one of our large cedar trees got a root disease that killed it. Just as it was starting to turn brown, I got a call from John (the owner) out of the blue telling me that he drove past our home the other day and noticed that he saw the cedar tree and thought it had died - wanted to give me a heads up. How's that for customer service! Great service - would use them again or recommend them for heavy tree work. more

Tree trimmers 7/19/2005

Trees grow like weeds around here, and sometimes they are weeds, so we have had occasion to remove a few in recent years. Seattle Tree Preservation may not offer the lowest bid, but you can be assured they will do a thoroughly professional job. more
