Seattle Gourmet Foods

This company produces good chocolate, though I am told the work conditions and the health conditions are substandard. I have personally heard a member of the Directorial staff refer to the factory employees as Oompa Loompas. I do believe the last review completely, it matches the stories I have heard directly from the horse's mouth. I will never spend a penny on their products. I like the chocolate, but the only reason I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying it was because said Director gave some to me as a gift, which this person had taken from the warehouse without permission, which she was in the habit of doing regularly. The stories of the upper management's disdain for poor people are accordingly also true, so long as this person's constant complaints about their coworkers are indeed true. My opinion is that the products are overpriced, and if the conditions in the warehouse are unhealthy, it simply isn't worth it. Thanks for reading. more

The first review is full of it, because that person does not know the inside workings of this ""fly by night"" company, The majority of the employees are nice because they are illegal immigrants who have no choice if they want to keep their jobs. No room for advancement, upper management look down on people with an education and extensive backgrounds in the food & beverage industry. The facility is always teeming with critters, no benefits, they have no human resource department so no protection for employees. The pay is miserably low, so if you plan on making a career with the candy industry skip seattle gourmet foods. more
