Rip off 11/1/2008

Don?t go there. All these people care for is to rip you off. I went there at 4, the doctor saw me at 6:30, and there was almost no one in the waiting room. I spent 8 minutes with the doctor. A nurse spent not more than 5 minutes to write down why I was there and check my pressure. I got a bill for $180 from the Seattle Emergency physicians and $100 from the facility. Two and a half hours wait and $280 for 8 minutes with the doctors, and 5 minutes with the nurse. I guess I also had to pay for the security person with a gun that guarded me from poor homeless people that entered their precious facility. What an ugly, ugly experience. more

Go to childrens before you go to Swedish! 9/23/2008

Last Saturday I broke my arm, I slipped on a wet grate. I saw my chiropractor, who suggested I go to the ER, and it took THE WHOLE DAY to get seen by a doc (30s) and two nurses (90s). I was worried, scared and in major pain. I was then given pain meds and dismissed. I'll never go back. Pros: It's there I suppose, if you are in a major accident. Cons: Not if you break your arm! more

May be good doctors but the incompetance of the billing department is staggering! 6/24/2008

I was admitted to the Swedish emergency room with a severe allergy attack. The immediate care in the emergency room was excellent! They took a copy of my insurance card for both them and the attending doctor. The Swedish hospital submitted their bill in a timely manner to the correct address, whereas the Seattle emergency Physicians office submitted their bill to an incorrect address. Having worked in a billing office I believe they chose the incorrect code which gave them an incorrect address. They continued to bill me... After many calls from Turkey, finally I was able to convince a person to look at the address! It was discovered that indeed they were sending the claim to the incorrect address. The bill was paid promptly by the insurance company after receiving the bill. There was some confusion as to whether they were part of a network... It took me more than 5months to get this resolved for $19.90 because the office/billing dept at Seattle Emergency Physicians believes that they are above making errors. I was talked 'down' to, dismissed, generally treated unkindly. They are a group of employees that are snobbish, self centered and filled with misplaced pride! Having worked in a billing/collections office I know that you get farther with the public if you offer them courtesy and respect as opposed to the 'know it all' attitude offered at Seattle Emergency Physicians. I can't say that writing this makes me feel better but if it helps someone else it is worth the time and effort. Cons: the billing department was impossible to work with! more
