I have been a physician in Seattle for 20 years. I and a number of my colleagues have known John McDonald and Agnes Forras for most of that time. I have referred them hundreds of patients, have seen Agnes for individual counseling, and was a member in one of their groups for 10 years. They have opened up their home to thousands of patients through the years, have had a full practice for decades, and are always willing to take new patients. I can speak to their impeccable reputation on several different levels. I am very careful about choosing to whom I refer my patients. Hands down they are head and shoulders above any other therapists I referred patients to. Over the years I have received consistently positive feedback from my patients about John and Agnes with only a rare individual who said there was a lack of connection. Their schedule is flexible with day and evening hours including weekend availability for their existing clients, should the need arise. They are dedicated to serving everyone regardless of financial need. This is evidenced by their sliding scale fee. I had individual therapy with Agnes initially. Most therapists have a paradigm in which they practice (cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, etc.) which can be somewhat limiting. Agnes is very familiar with most paradigms (different methods of treating patients) and integrates her knowledge and experience so she is able to custom tailor her therapy to that individual's unique needs. Her attitude is one of humble service to her patient/client. Neither I nor any of my patients have experienced anything other than this with her. I also had the opportunity to participate in one of their groups for 10 years. It was one of the most rewarding, challenging, and growing times for me. John and Agnes were consistently understanding, empathic, caring, insightful, astute, and respectful in their assessments and recommendations to us. There was minimal turnover in the group I was in for 10 years. That should speak for itself.
