Editorial review from Citysearch 9/30/2012

I would like to voice a complaint about a groupon that my husband purchased through Groupon for Sears Portrait Studio. He actually purchased two. One for my family and one as a gift for my sister. After the service, or lack thereof, I will no longer be giving the gift to my sister. I called Sears earlier in the week to set up an appointment to have pictures taken for my four children. I have four boys ages 10,7,2, and 1. I booked an appointment for Wednesday afternoon at 3:30. I was told by the woman on the phone that I could possibly be taken in at 3:00 if there was someone available (I explained that 3:30 would be cutting it close due to my son?s football game being at 5:00). I also was sure to let her know that I would be coming in with a groupn. My entire afternoon was centered around getting the outfits for the pictures and my children ready for the appointment. My 65 year old mother-in-law met me at Sears to help me with the four children. I am 20 weeks pregnant and an extra pair of hands would have been helpful. Upon arriving at Sears I found out that the studio was actually closed. I had asked another employee if there was anyone I could talk to in the studio. He was able to locate the studio manager who happened to be there for a meeting. The manager was extremely rude. She told me that the studio had closed at 3:00 and it was impossible that someone scheduled me an appointment. She also told me that she was the only person in the studio on Monday and that she did not talk to me to schedule my appointment. Not at any point did she apologize for the misunderstanding or offer to reschedule my appointment. I asked her if she could look in the computer to see if I was even in the system at all. I thought maybe there was a mix up in the days. She was completely unwilling to turn on the system to check for me. Certainly being the manager she had the capability to do so. She was not at all sympathetic to the situation at hand. She seemed to be more eager to get me out of her studio than she was to try and rectify the situation. She was very short and if felt like she was trying to make me feel stupid for even thinking that I could have an appointment. She was so rude that there is not a single chance that I would EVER go to Sears to have my children?s pictures taken. I don?t think that I have ever been treated so poorly by someone who works in customer service. In fact I walked down to another store in the mall and had my children?s photos taken there. I obviously did not put so much time and effort into getting my four children ready to go take pictures at a place where I did not have an appointment. I am extremely disappointed in the service that I received. more
