I don't know how we missed this place before, but it's exactly what northtown needs! Although the outside could use a few bigger signs so people see the place, the interior is very well done. As soon as we walked through the door, I felt comfortable and at home with the dark wood and Irish feel - The smiles on the employees faces only made it better. The food - WOW. I can honestly say there is no other Pub restaurant around that serves meals this tasty. There was a pretty decent mix of choices on the menu and the server also told us that more signature dishes are being added by the Chef. After enjoying our meal, we moved to the bar to try our luck at some video poker and had a few beers - served in ice cold glasses (always a welcome plus). We didn't leave as millionaires but basically enjoyed a free meal from what we won on the machines. We are definitely going back to try new menu items and perhaps a few different types of beer. Suffice it to say - we found our new hangout. I highly recommend checking out Kavanaughs - you won't be disappointed! more

It's been years since a review has been posted on this establishment. There are five new flat-screen TVs in the bar area, all new Video Poker machines and a Game Room with Shuffleboard, Darts and Golden Tee. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I recommend anyone in the area to come check Kavanaugh's out. If you're looking for a local bar where ""everyone will know your name,"" this is it!! more

I have been there several times, since I live nearby and am Irish, but I will never return. One of the bartenders is just horrible. He is lazy, unfriendly, and makes the whole experience unpleasant. Well first you walk in and you get overpowered by the STENCH of smoke from the pub. I have been here before so I know to ask to sit far,far away from the pub side. After we are seated we sit and order. Meal comes and no fanfare. The only reason I am writing this is because after the food was dropped at the table we NEVER saw our server again. The drinks were long gone and the meal was finished and I was waiting for my server to come back and give us refills on the sodas,and give us our check. I waited about 5 minutes (everyone is done just sitting there), before I asked another server walk by to please send us our server. It really isn't saposed to be that way, and there is alot of other restaurants out there to spend my money at and get better service. We have been going in this pub for 5 years until I was told I could not pay a machine. It was being held until another customer was done with the machine she was playing on.?? more

Using CitySearch and other online sources to find an Irish Pub (Fado being just too far to drive after a long day), we found Kavanaugh's, read the reviews - admittedly puzzled by the kudos to fiesta salad and barbeque at an Irish pub - and decided to give it a shot. Not a huge beer selection for an irish pub but they do have Guinness and Beamish. Sunday morning/afternoon brunch is by far their best feature. For several extra dollars over their regular breakfast meals you can get unlimited champagne, and these meals are very large including toast, home fries, eggs, and whatever your meal might have been i.e. steak. It's also a good location for other meals too. Bar wise it's not too impressive, the pub portion isn't anything special, no abundance of tv to watch sports or like I said before a large beer selection. Service here is great though and the servers tend to be very friendly and happy to be there. more

If you feel all great fun places are on the strip, or in Summerlin, this is a refreshing find on the North side - Yes, we in North Las Vegas like to have fun too. The moment you walk into Kavanaughs you are ""beamed"" into an authentic Irish Pub.
