Recently my family went to see Dr. Cagle and Dr. Merritt for our first visits. The location is tricky to get to as it is on the feeder road which you can access only on Chuck Dawley- if you miss the turn off- which we did because you cannot see the building or sign from the turn- it will take you a few minutes to turn around on Coleman and make your way back. The sign for the practice is small- and again, you can only see it once you've passed it by. Needless to say, we were a few minutes late trying to locate it. I received a call on my cell at five minutes past our appt time asking where we were- I happened to be passing the building at that point. When we arrived a few minutes after- the receptionists were cold and dismissive- even though we were apologetic. The hygienist didn't speak to me during the cleaning and I was separated from my child- who they took off in another room. I was able to overhear office gossip - very unprofessional. Once the cleaning was finished the dentist came in- glanced at the xrays, made his diagnosis and left. He did not take the time to explain what he found to me regarding my teeth or my child's. As we were leaving, the rude receptionists wanted to know when we'd be returning- I asked why and they said that we'd need to come back for fillings- which the dentist did not clearly tell me (he talked to me about "dings" on our teeth- but didn't say what he wanted us to do). This practice appears to be more concerned with time management than service, and as far as a "family practice" goes- any practice that separates parent from child (under 8) and puts child in a room alone with a strange adult they've never met for a dental service they are nervous about doesn't have the slightest idea of what being a "children's dentist" means. I'll never take my children there again.
Cons: difficult to access location, small signs, rude office staff, degenerating building
