Early New Year's Eve, we returned home from a long day at the zoo. As I was pulling into the garage, I was careless and drove over one of my sprinkler values. The value was destroyed and water filled my front yard. Since my sprinklers were cut right into my water main, I had to shot off the water main. As a result, I had no water to the house.
So, I called a Schuelke Plumbing who has worked on my house in the past. They told me that it would cost $200 just to show up at the house. I said I didn't care and told them to come over. He asked where I was located and said that he would need to call me back. When he did call he said that they didn't service my area. I told him that this wasn't correct because they had been to my house a number of times in the past. Then he told me that they were just too busy.
I understand it was New Year's Eve. I knew it was going to be a pain to get someone to my house and that it might cost me a lot to do so. I could even understand if they said “sorry we are not working tonight.” The answer they gave me is totally unacceptable and displays a lack of integrity and professionalism. I will not do business with them again and would advise everyone to stay away from them.
By the way with the help of Angie's List, I was able to get a plumber to my house 20 minutes later and he charged me $100.
