The Best in Charity Thrift Shopping! 2/3/2011

The Scholarshop is the best! Huge, daily changing inventory, and you get to support area student's education through scholarships. Like all thrift store shopping, it's hit and miss. But I go quite frequently, and find more than my share of goodies. Like most thrift shopping, there's a no return policy, which I can certainly understand. I always try items on and am careful to examine before I buy. When purchasing for someone else, if I'm not totally sure about the item, I ask the staff to hold it for me, which they will do. I've gotten some real treasures at the Scholarshop and highly recommend it! more

Do not buy from the scholar shop. You cannot return or exchange anything even if the tags are still on. I used to shop there a lot but when a blouse was purchased for me by my hisband and did not fit they said SORRY TO BAD YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT. This is a very poor policy and we will never shop there again. We used to promote the scholar shop but not anymore. more

Fab Fashion Finds 5/30/2010

Love this place. They have fashionable finds at the fraction of the price -- but it helps to know what you are looking for and what brands you know and like. You can only try on 6 items at a time and you can't return anything -- you may re-donate but if you buy it, it's yours. Both locations have their unique "product mix." Since it relies on donations, it's always a surprise what products they have. Some items may be from retailers (new!) and others are gently used. more

Interesting place.... 10/14/2006

I like the Scholar Shop, though I don't visit that often....it's just interesting to see what you might 'find.' Some days I've found great designer items at a fraction of the cost...other days, I've been disappointed in the small number of items that interested me. I have not visited since having a child, so I'm not sure how the children's section is...but the women's items were always nice. Customer service here is somewhat lacking....but the major savings on their goods makes up for it! more

You can find great things here 9/12/2006

This store is pretty neat. It is run off of donations by the rich people of St. Louis. There you will find Coach bags, Dolce & Gabbana, etc. The pickings can be slim at times. But it is always fun to browse through the store. I always find great kids stuff there. Would recommend. more

I used to shop here a lot, but I much prefer the location in Webster Groves. The staff there is so friendly. This location isn't as customer-focused. Yesterday, for example, I was carrying quite a bit of clothes around looking for a cart. At no point did a volunteer offer to help. At the other location, they go out of their way to be helpful. Also, a lot of the clothes have stains. more
