A Wonderful Place to Take Your Cat 10/21/2010

My cat started having seizures at six years old, and they were absolutely terrifying for her and for us. Her entire body would seize and her eyes would roll back in her head, and she sometimes lost control of her bladder. We took her to other vets and no one could find out what was causing the seizures and no one even suggested what we could do about them. It seemed hopeless. Then we moved to Scottsdale and met Dr. Grant, who also couldn't tell us what was causing the seizures -- there are so many things that might cause them, and only very expensive, auduous testing *might* reveal the cause, but he DID have a treatment option. With medication, my cat has been seizure free from the day we met Dr. Grant to this day. I might never know what is caused the seizures, but now there's hope, and the medication hasn't decreased her quality of life. She's a happy cat, and all thanks to a doctor who was willing to try something no one else thought to try. more

Bad Diagnosis 8/11/2007

Our cat has been going in and out of the Dr. grant's office over the past few months for Dr. Grant to try and ""guess"" what is wrong with our cat. Meanwhile, they decide, since they do not seem to have the knowledge to actually determine what is wrong with her that the best option is perform a procedure on her that has made her extremely sick. Please take our advice and go to a more experienced Dr. so that your beloved pet does not have to suffer from a Dr. who's method of curing an animal is by trying whatever treatment options seem to pop into his head at the time. We have since done plenty of research online and found more information than the Dr. has ever provided to us. more

Best local hospital/vet for cats 2/21/2007

The Scaredy Cat Hospital is very clean, well-maintained, and very homey (comfy chairs, white rattan and wood furniture, etc.) The technicians and doctor I saw were competent, and very gentle with my cat; the receptionist was pleasant to deal with, and very professional as well. They sell very good cat foods, toys, and other products (ear cleaners, treats, etc.) The rates are average for this area; hours are odd (no appointments Monday and Wednesday mornings, for example); and the place is in a strip mall, which may make it hard to find. The exam room was a bit on the small side, but then it's in a strip mall; not a lot of room to work with. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone with a housecat. And the tailless calico is cute, too! Pros: Very well-maintained; staff loves cats and it shows; competent personnel Cons: Odd hours; strip mall location; small exam room more
