The Scene
Table placement might seem strange at first, since the restaurant is located in the atrium of the hotel. Passersby walk right through in order to reach conference rooms and the parking deck. Thanks to a bubbling fountain, high ceilings, earthen tile floors, large windows and beautiful foliage, however, you can almost imagine that you're seated at a European sidewalk café.
The Food
True to its name, the menu is largely Italian, offering generous as well as hearty favorites such as steaks, veal chops and a flavorful grilled lamb. The catch of the day, recently a pecan-crusted salmon with just the right amount of Florentine sauce, is accompanied by artfully bundled steamed veggies. Not just the usual squash medley, either, but a mixture of asparagus, roasted red pepper and eggplant. At lunch, sandwiches and salads are more prominent. Your burger might come out slightly overcooked, but there's not enough praise in the dictionary for the minestrone soup.
