Scali Ristorante & Deli

My first visit to this remarkable restaurant occured last week. I have heard of Scali for years, but never bothered going. What a mistake! If you have never enjoyed this culinary delight, then go, NOW! The atmosphere is electric because it's always busy. The service is good, but the food is the star. The Veal Marsala was incredible, I'm not sure what my wife was eating, but she wasn't talking, so it had to be delicious. The wine list has a very good selection, and the prices are down right cheap for any restaurant, let alone one of this caliber. Get the Tiramisu. A place that I can choose the type of food I want because they have a great assortment. Absolutely the best Italian food around without having a gimick to be able to attract customers which to me doesn't make up for quality food. Their appetizers and desserts are also unbeatable. This one of those places that you probably pass all of the time and don't think about going in. Little did I know the secret tucked in a strip mall would be my favorite! The BEST Italian food in the city. Papa Scali's ravioli Florentine are decadent and delicious. The wines are reasonably priced and go well with the food. Make sure you have reservations!! Buca schmuca!!! I can't wait to go back. more

Scali's always has a very good menu, specials such as rack of lamb are superb, deserts to die form and Mama Scali's fresh bread is to be long remembered. Your neither regret the cost of the meal or the number of calories absorbed when dining at Scali's. more

This was the best Italian food that I've eaten outside of Italy! The lasagna melted in my mouth. The salads tasted out of this world. Try the red pepper salad, it is like nothing I've had in any other restaurant. The meatballs are huge and very tasty. Be sure to make reservations especially on the weekend. I can only stand so much of Brio. Trott, Martini's and Buca's are all good. But when you just some good Italin with out all of the fluff, you HAVE to go to Scali's!
