I really wish that other phone companies were able to provide DSL service to southern Connecticut, because the employees at SBC are extremely hard to understand, incompetent and just plain... stupid.
I had a problem with my DSL today, so I made the mistake of calling tech support. The first tier was no help and only asked me to do the same things I had already done on my own. The second tier asked me to power off my modem so he could run some tests, after which he responded, "Your modem isn't talking to us." I said, "...Um, isn't that because it's off?" He said, "Oh! Ha, ha. Yeah, I forgot about that. Ha, ha."
Needless to say, I fixed the problem without the help of their "high-level" tech support.
