I have had SBC (now AT&T) DSL for about 4 years now, and my connection is rock solid - it rarely goes down. Prior to this I had charter broadband, and it would go down every single day for at least an hour. I pay $27 a month for SBC which I consider very reasonable - now here's what I don't like....
I want to get VOIP, but I cannot get SBC DSL without getting phone services from them, this just irritates me no end. What I save with SBC DSL I waste on their overpriced phone services. So, to get VOIP I have to continue to pay SBC for a phone, or I could get Charter Cable again and their flat rate phone service for $29 a month, but I can't bear the thought of the daily downtime I used to suffer with them.
I heard awhile back that the FCC was going to force telephone companies to sell DSL separate from phone services, but when I call the phone company they tell me that's news to them =/
