Sawatdee Thai Cuisine

The food was good though I don't know that I would say any better then Thai Angel or Thai Cusine in Tualatin. I didn't care for the satay very much though the peanut sauce was good. Pad Thai seemed a small portion for the price but was very good. The spring rolls were very good and so were the salad rolls also ,good Thai Tea. Though I thought the food was a bit pricey for the amount they gave us, the place was very clean and the hostess very attentive. I took my 15 month old in with us and the waitress brought out a sippy cup a baby book and baby plate, spoon and fork. Saddly, I toke my mom who wasn't sure she liked thai food and she didn't like anything we ordered. Over all though a good expreience. more

I didn't expect to find authentic Thai in a strip mall but what a pleasant surprise! The panang chicken, spicy green bean and gai graw pow were as good as any Thai restaurant I've tried. This is a family owned establishment that treat their customers like family. The food is wonderful and very fresh and authentic. As the other reviewer mentioned, please do not let the strip mall part fool you. \r Definitely give it a go - You will be pleased. I moved to Sherwood from Portland in the fall, I noticed this place when I went to the grocery store to buy food staples. At first I had dismissed the place as it was in a strip mall. My experience with strip mall joints in Portland had not been too pleasing. But my yearning for tasty Thai got the better of me.\r \r November 2007 marks the first time I visited Sawatdee. I ordered their Red Curry and Pad Thai, to go. Both of these dishes I am quite familiar with so I felt safe in using them as a basis for review. Both of which I ordered medium or 3plus stars in spiciness. \r \r I was stunned! Both dishes were better than any other restaurant I have visited. The balance of sweet, spicy, salty were perfect in harmony!!! Their choice in ingredients appear to be top-grade, all was so perfect. I now visit them for lunch or for dinner at least once a week. I try something new every week and have never been disappointed... \r \r My favorite dishes are Drunken noodle 4 star spicy, spicy green beans, all of their curries are supreme, evil jungle noodle is incredible, as is their pad thai... I cannot say enough of their menu and I always order at least three items so I can have a family style meal at home... The leftovers keep for days. \r \r I would suggest their cooking is great enough that if I ever left Sherwood, I would travel here still to partake in their incredible cooking! This place is a great find! For being a small place in a suburban plaza, it is actually the best Thai food I've ever had. The calamari is perfect and the curries are excellent.
