I was hoping for much better from Savona, being familiar with the Tratoria on the Rondout. The staff pretty much ignored us when we arrived. No hellos or anything and we were the only people in the restaurant. The restaurant itself could use a good cleaning and a paint job. It looks tired and unappealing.
The pizza we ordered had nice ingredients, but the bottom was limp and underdone even though we had mentioned we wanted it crisp. The side salad was generous, but they brought you a thimble of dressing on the side. The paper plates completed the experience with only the cheapest and thinnest ones you can buy being offered. I would not go here again even for free.
