I have been taking Sammy, my collie, to the Sausalito Pet Hotel and Spa for the past year and we cannot rave or bark enough about it!!! Pros: Never have to worry, great care and environment, clean and bright Cons: Trying to get Sammy back in the car to go home! more

A place I can leave my boy, worry free. 4/2/2007

I would highly recommend the Sausalito Pet Hotel. I have a hard enough time leaving my dog. i know my dog is well cared for because when I drop him off he is happy to see Frank (the owner). When I pick him up he is still as happy as he was when I dropped him off. It's clean, it's bright and cheerful, and it is so obvious Frank genuinly loves these animals. Pros: My puppy likes it there more

not what I was expecting 3/5/2007

I used Sausalito Pet Hotel once and I will never go back. I brought my 4 yo Great Dane X after meeting the woman who owns the place and being reassured that the dogs all get out for walks twice a day to the ""beach"", and play in a daycare like environment when there are appropriate dogs there. When I picked up my guy he was lame, and had pressure sores on his hip and shoulder that were infected. When I asked if he had been out to play or to the beach the woman said that he wasn't interested in going out much so she let him stay in his kennel most of the time. I dropped off food for him since I keep him on a pretty strict diet, and more than half of the bag came back to me (there was only enough there for the stay and one extra meal.) He developed kennel cough the day after I brought him home and I phoned the kennel and spoke with the owner who said that it wasn't her fault that he had kennel cough and that he could have caught it from anywhere. She was very defensive and didn't even mention that she was sorry that he wasn't feeling well in general. I asked her to help pay for the vet bill for his pressure sores, and she told me that she couldn't pay for everyone's vet bills that go home sick or injured. more
