This small, rather understated, gem of a restaurant is located in Walnut Creek (not downtown) and has a diverse and full menu full of delectable Indian food. You will not find beef on this menu as Cows are considered sacred in most parts of India, and thus not served in Indian dishes most of the time. There are wonderful chicken and lamb dishes, but the one item that keeps my wife and I coming back again and again is the absolutely wonderful Na an (Indian flat bread). There Na an, like many of the dishes, is prepared in a variety of ways. We have seen it stuffed with garlic and may other ingredients, but we actually prefer the plain Na an and it comes hot from the oven and once you start eating it you can not stop. We also order the Chicken Chat for an appetizer. Several times we have had chicken for the main course, and the one particular dish we ordered comes to the table still smoking and perfectly cooked. A side of white Basmati rice tops it off. For desert I would suggest the honey balls. The menu is extensive, but we never find it to be particularly expensive. If you want authentic Indian cuisine served in an authentic Indian like setting, this is the place for you.
