To say that ""all vets"" do anything is completely untrue. I've worked in the veterinary field for over 12 years alongside of many doctors, and there are as many different viewpoints regarding which vaccines are necessary as there are vets. Also, these statements imply that veterinarians as a whole deliberately make pets sick to make money by treating them. Nothing could be further from the truth! Veterinarians practice medicine because they love animals and want to help give them the best lives possible. I agree that some vaccine schedules can lead to overvaccination or even unnecessary vaccination, but prevention of disease is important and there are options, such as titers. Veterinary medicine, like all good medicine, is changing as time progresses, and they are discovering more and more which vaccine schedules offer the best protection with the least stress on the immune system. I'm very sorry for your losses, but I couldn't disagree more about Dr. Brockett. I worked for her many years ago and she was an *outstanding* doctor and a very caring person who loved animals. I would recommend her to anyone.
