Amazing all around 12/17/2008

Great service with a family atmosphere. Great live music (it was TUE). Tried the sauteed shrimp (10/10), Empanadas (beef 10/10, cheese/basil 8/10), Panini (8/10), Cuban Salad (10/10), and a bold Argentinean cab (9/10). New local favorite!! Pros: food, ambiance and prices Cons: street parking more

Great music (especially Wednesdays), great food & prices! 10/16/2008

I live in the neighborhood, heard good things and checked them out. Their food is fantastic, especially the Cuban salad. They had a fantastic guitar player/singer named Bob playing everything from Jobim to Simon & Garfunkle to jazz standards. He was one of the finest singers I've ever heard. He said he was just hired to play regularly every Wednesday night. The service was fantastic...the atmosphere was very cool, Argentinian style. more

A great place to eat, drink, and hang out in the neighborhood 9/16/2008

Although word has it that the place is packed in the evenings we enjoyed some excellent tapas dishes, fine beers, and sangria one Monday afternoon with the place to ourselves (except for one diligent writer hunched over his notebook computer). Do yourself a favor and, if you're in the neighborhood, give Santino's a try. It's only a few blocks south of Ocean Park Blvd on Lincoln Blvd, just north of Rose. Pros: casual with fine food and drink Cons: parking might be an issue at times more

Mean People & dumb drunks 7/7/2008

I was there with my wife & two kids on Tuesday, bad waiters. We waited 30 minutes for our order & waiter. Then another 45 minutes for the food, that went cold right away. There were so many drunks cussing around my family. I felt very embarrassed front my family. Back to the food, it was so bad, it looked liked 8 years cook the damn food. I got very sick of it. Pros: It was only one time i been there. Cons: EVERYTHING more

Service, Service, Service 6/30/2008

If there is something as important as good food in a restaurant it is good service and when you find both in one same place you have found a place to call home. This is why there are so many familiar faces at Santino's, people keep coming back. Whether it is Pizza nights, Pinguo's nights, with their fiary music, Paella nights, ""talk about finger liking good"" Sundays ASADOS ""Argentinian for BBQ"" and of course Brazilian time, well you have found a great fun place to go eat, and close to the BEACH!!! Of course their ""TO GO"" menu is just as good, you'll just miss the fun time and good service. Congratulations to the owners for such hard effort, I hope you grow soon, that place gets packed. Monique Pros: Outside sitting, continious service, attentive, clean, close to the beach. more

Sangria-lovers heaven! 7/29/2007

I absolutely love this place. The food, ambiance and friendly staff transport you to some cafe in a beachy European/South American country. I've been there a few times now and they already know my name. The pizza and tapas are fantastic as are the desserts (which change everyday). However, best of all is the sangria. I could sit with a pitcher of these all day... Pros: Authentic sangria, tapas, people Cons: nada more

Awsome Pizza!!! Great variety and a very Healthy Pizza. Highly recommended. 7/2/2007

Santino's is the real deal! Pros: Food, ambiance, atmosphere, price-value, and ""The Owners"" Cons: It closes too early (10 P.M.) more

Super locals hang-out with South American Flare 4/25/2007

The pizza IS amazing, but a word to the wise, it's only made on Tuesday and Friday nights and currently the Argentine band Los Pinguos plays on Tuesdays and it's PACKED! So much fun, but reservations are definitely required for this night. You feel like you are at home with the great staff and beyond the pizza, the rest of the menu is solid. I live a few blocked away so am a regular. Also, if you like meat, you HAVE to come to the Sunday afternoon/evening Argentine BBQ. All you can eat and MUY RICO :) Pros: Great atmosphere AND food Cons: I get too full more

Pizza on the Grill is to die for! 2/27/2007

My friend just had his birthday party here and everyone went for the all-you-can-eat grilled pizza. The friendly owner kept heaping it onto our plates and I couldn't get enough. The crust is the thinnest, flakiest, most wonderful thing you'll ever taste and the toppings are fresh and varied (brie and tomato, veggie with avocado, roasted red pepper and mushrooms, plus many meat ones that I didn't try). The lighting is ideal - warm and dim. The back patio had a fire going and that's where the grill is so you get to watch the pizza action. For two people - all you can eat pizza and two alcoholic beverages - the bill came to $36 before tip. It's a great place to go for a party or a quiet, romantic dinner for two. Pros: Friendly staff, great pizza, lots of parking Cons: not cheap more

Love this place 9/2/2006

One of My favorite restaurants. I live in the neighborhood and go here at least once a week. Have tried many menu selections and never been disapointed. The staff are super friendly. Great place for a mellow dinner that won't leave you broke. Pros: Everything more

Owner Message
  • Santino's reminds me of that classic 80's sitcom Cheers. Although it's located in sunny Santa Monica, it oozes that familiar family vibe that enchanted the viewers of Cheers. If, like me, you not only enjoy good food & wine but feel that familiarity & hospitality are equally as important in creating a good night out, then you will not be disappointed with Santino's.

Twice a week, Santino's hosts some of the best live Latin music in L.A. Thursday nights sizzle with the incredible sounds of "Los Pinguos," & on Sundays you can savor a delicious authentic Argentinian Bar-B-Q whilst enjoying live Brazilian music. And make sure you try Santino's famous "grilled pizzas" on Tuesdays & Fridays.

At Santino's, you can enjoy everything from a three course Argentinean meal to some delicious Spanish tapas. There is always something new to discover, so believe me one visit is not enough.
